Full job description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with experience in retail and eCommerce. The role involves managing day-to-day financial tasks, maintaining accurate records across multiple sales channels, and supporting key accounting processes throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Handle daily bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records across retail and eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon, eBay)
  • Reconcile merchant payouts, refunds, discounts, fees, and chargebacks
  • Process invoices, payments, expenses, and supplier statements
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and supporting the month-end close process
  • Track inventory-related costs, COGS, and stock adjustments
  • Support the preparation of yearly accounts and work with external accountants as needed
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company procedures

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in eCommerce or retail
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel/Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and payment processors
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with inventory systems and multi-channel sales data
  • Understanding of VAT processes and related compliance
  • Experience managing high-volume transaction reconciliations
