Job summary

We are looking for two experienced Prescription Administrators to join our busy and friendly team to provide a high-quality service to patients. The successful candidates will be able to work 25 hours per week over 4 days, predominantly based at our Brough and South Cave surgeries. The willingness to work our other surgeries on occasion is essential.

The candidate we are seeking should be experienced in delivering an efficient and courteous service, always maintaining professionalism and discretion, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and attention to detail are essential along with the flexibility to cover for annual/sick leave.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, especially under pressure. You will have a range of patient facing and administrative tasks, so excellent organisational skills and time management are critical. A caring, empathetic character is also essential.

Your main duties will include providing a repeat prescription service via telephone, email, SystmOne and repeat slips, responding to medication requests from patients, hospitals and pharmacies and maintaining good communications with other members of the Practice to maximise benefits to patients.

We are a large, forward-thinking Practice with 47,500 patients across five main practice sites - Brough, South Cave, Hessle, Holme Upon Spalding Moor and Bubwith. Each of these sites has its own personal characteristics and a varied patient mix as we cover commuting areas for Hull, Leeds, and York, due to easy access to A63/M62, and also rural East Yorkshire.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced working environment and be able to adapt to change easily. You will need to have a strong work ethic and be able to work under pressure and in isolation. The role involves close personal patient contact in person and on the phone, so good communication skills are essential. Your role will be varied, dealing with a variety of duties and no two days will be the same. Job descriptionJob responsibilities

Providing a repeat prescription service to patients which involves taking requests by telephone, email, SystmOne and repeat slips.

Responding to medication queries in a professional manner, referring to the appropriate GP / pharmacist as needed. This may include adding to and/or amending a patients SystmOnemedication record as advised by the appropriate clinician.

Maintaining good communications with other members of the Practice in order to maximise benefits to patients, and support colleagues within the parameters of your role.

Providing cover for holidays and sickness to ensure continuation of the dispensing service at all sites within the Practice.

Attending dispensary meetings whenever possible. Ensuring that Significant Events and Near Misses are reported and made available to be discussed at the meetings.

Taking part in an annual Performance and Development review as required by the Practice

Working within the Practice guidelines and Dispensary Standard Operating Procedures at all times.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.44-£12.75 per hour
