AGSE Global Services is a leading maintenance, repair and services provider within the aerospace industry. We are ground support equipment and tooling specialists, supporting airline and maintenance facilities across the UK and Europe. Our customers are global organisations who work to strict timescales for aircraft repair and turnaround, therefore ensuring their tooling and equipment is always compliant and serviceable is critical. With multiple hubs across the UK, we provide our customers with timely local support on a daily basis. Dedicated to premium service levels, we pride ourselves on being trustworthy, knowledgeable, efficient and dependable.
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our experienced team. The successful candidate will work with other more senior technicians across various locations – sometimes travelling to other UK sites. The majority of the works will be mechanical, but there will be elements of hydraulic, pneumatics and electrical aspects to consider. Support will always be provided by a suitably qualified senior technician.
Day to day tasks will include delivering planned maintenance and repairs to aircraft engine stands, ground support equipment and tooling – with a mixture of onsite repairs and workshop activities.
There will be fantastic opportunities for the right individual to grow and develop within our engineering team as the business expands.
Main duties include
- Delivering planned maintenance activities to various types of aircraft engine stands, ground support equipment and tooling.
- Surveying equipment to identify faults and generating reports via our online system.
- Undertaking repairs to various types of aircraft engine stands and tooling.
- Reading engineering drawings and manuals to support fault-finding and identifying spare parts.
- Collection and delivery of customer equipment to and from various sites across our network.
- Prepare risk assessments, method statements and all aspects relating to Health and Safety on site
- Working as part of a wider engineering team.
- Supporting work activities at other airports or UK sites as required from time to time.
- Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure jobs are accepted, understood, implemented and closed down efficiently and accurately.
- Opportunity for overseas travel, completing works on Customer sites globally.
What we are looking for in our candidates:
We value a positive personality and can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to the role and will be committed to delivering excellent customer service
- Holding a formal engineering or similar qualification would be advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical approach to problems.
- Experienced with IT, demonstrating ability in MS Office - including Email, Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Good at communicating with people at all levels – both internally and customer facing.
Additional Information
- Travel between sites may be a requirement from time to time.
- Full clean driving licence – manual gearbox.
- Must have right to work in the UK.
- Must be able to gain an airport pass – therefore clean personal record and ability to show previous work/educational history up to 5 years prior with references.
- This job specification is subject to change in light of contract experience.
