Full job description
Mechanic
Join easyJet Engineering & Maintenance as we expand operations with an additional hangar facility at London Luton Airport.
easyJet’s Engineering and Maintenance team is known across the industry for its innovative, solution driven approach. With a proud reputation for delivering Europe’s highest technical dispatch reliability recognised by Airbus you’ll be part of a dynamic team working at the heart of our airline’s operation.
What you’ll be doing:
You will perform aircraft maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Certifying Licensed Engineer, ensuring all work requiring a Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) is completed per the MOE, EASA Requirements, and NAA regulations. You will be fully conversant with accomplishing allocated tasks and seek guidance for unfamiliar areas. A thorough verbal handover of any partially completed tasks is required, ensuring documentation is completed as far as possible. You will report any defects or safety risks to the Maintenance Supervisor or Base Manager, adhere to all safety precautions and procedures, comply with health and safety requirements, and ensure that all facilities, tools, and equipment are satisfactory for the tasks. Compliance with Station Standing Instructions and accepting other duties and responsibilities as reasonably requested are also essential. Additionally, you will carry out all scheduled tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with approved maintenance documentation.
What you’ll need to do the role:
Candidates will demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of applicable airworthiness legislation and ideally hold a time-served apprenticeship with operational experience in a hangar maintenance environment. A high degree of customer focus, both internal and external, is essential. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a team at all levels of the organisation and show a willingness to be flexible to meet deadlines and overcome operational problems. Demonstrating a working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and technical knowledge of aircraft, along with the hand skills required to carry out tasks, is crucial. Additionally, the ability to use aircraft maintenance documentation and computer-based reporting and recording systems is required.
What you’ll get in return
> Competitive base salary
> Up to 15% bonus
> 25 days holiday
> BAYE, SAYE & Performance share schemes
> 7% pension
> Life Assurance
> Flexible benefits package
> Excellent staff travel benefits
Location & Hours of Work
This full-time role will be based in Luton working permanent nights, 10.75-hour shifts. Shift pattern is a 28 day roster pattern, with occasional travel requirements to easyJet’s headquarters or network locations.
