Job Purpose

The post holder is responsible for carrying out safe, compliant and efficient RampOperations, Cargo & Warehouse Operations, and Customs & E-commerce Operations in accordancewith company procedures, airline requirements and regulatory standards. The role supportsoperational excellence through safe working practices, regulatory compliance, multi-skilling andeffective cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ramp Operations

Perform aircraft loading, unloading and turnaround activities safely and efficiently in accordancewith airline, CAA and company procedures.

Operate authorised Ground Support Equipment (GSE) following appropriate training and operational authorisation.

Load, unload and secure cargo, ULDs and pallets in accordance with loading instructions and operational requirements.

Verify cargo positions, ULD numbers and cargo labels to ensure loading accuracy and prevent misloads.

Carry out pre-use equipment inspections and promptly report equipment defects or operational abnormalities.

Participate in FOD inspections, maintain ramp housekeeping standards and ensure operational readiness of work areas.

Respond positively to flight delays, equipment failures and operational changes as directed by theTeam Leader.

2. Cargo & Warehouse Operations

Perform inbound and outbound warehouse operations, including cargo receipt, storage, sorting, build-up, breakdown and dispatch.

Maintain correct segregation of bonded, non-bonded and detained cargo to ensure cargointegrity and inventory accuracy.

Operate WMS and handheld PDA devices accurately to complete cargo scanning, stockmovements and operational records.

Support warehouse housekeeping activities and maintain clean, safe and organised operationalareas.

Carry out routine warehouse inspections and promptly report housekeeping, equipment or safety concerns.

Work collaboratively with Ground Handling Agents (GHA) and warehouse colleagues to supportefficient cargo operations.

Operate X-Ray screening, ETD screening and other authorised aviation security procedures whereappropriately trained and authorised.

Ensure screened cargo is correctly recorded, labelled and released only after all compliancerequirements have been satisfied.

3. E-commerce & Customs Operations

Comply with HMRC, UKBF, CAA and company regulatory requirements at all times.

Support customs inspections and assist HMRC officers during cargo examinations where required.

Verify customs labels, seals and cargo documentation to support customs clearance activities.

Update customs clearance status accurately within internal systems and promptly report declaration discrepancies.

Identify and immediately report prohibited goods, damaged seals, incorrect labels, cargo discrepancies and aviation security concerns to the Team Leader.

Return PDAs, equipment and operational tools after use, ensuring they remain available for daily operations.

Participate in customs, aviation security and operational compliance training to maintain operational competence.

4. Teamwork & Operational Support

Attend daily pre-shift briefings and carry out assigned duties in accordance with operational priorities, flight schedules and safety requirements.

Follow task allocations and operational instructions issued by the Team Leader.  Work collaboratively with Ramp, Cargo, Customs, Airlines, Load Control and Ground Handling Agents to support safe and efficient operations.

Maintain Ramp Operations as the primary operational responsibility. When directed by the Team Leader and operational capacity permits, provide operational support to Cargo, Customs andother operational teams while maintaining effective communication and safe working practices.

Comply with company SOPs, Health & Safety requirements, aviation regulations and security procedures at all times.

Participate in on-the-job training, multi-skilling programmes and competency assessments to support continuous professional development.

Promote teamwork, cross-functional collaboration and continuous operational improvement.

Support operational requirements during flight delays, labour shortages and other operational contingencies.

Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the level of the role.

5. Special Conditions / Requirements

Flexibility in work hours may be necessary.

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

• East Midlands Airport, Leicestershire: reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (required)
