Role Summary:
To ensure the welfare of Adventure Valley’s animals; from large and small livestock to ‘domestic’ animals, reptiles and exotics. To maintain an efficient operation within the Farm Department by following strict rules and procedures. Helping with maintenance as and when required.Carry out children’s scheduled animal activities regularly. Ensure animal staff are working efficiently and following company procedures
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the running of the Farm Yard; and maintenance ensuring that all animals are fed, watered, mucked out and correct medications are administered. Animal staff, work experience and apprenticeships will report directly to you. Take part in weekly meetings with the managers and other area supervisors. Responsible for the cleanliness of the farmyard, stables, paddocks and other animal areas. Staff training when required. To identify and report any illness or injury that may have occurred to any animals and take necessary steps to help recovery. Take responsibility for stock replenishment of animal feed, bedding and other items required for day to day use. Help create a fun and safe environment for our staff and customers to enjoy. Also to take care maintenance and outside operational areas of the park. This will cover areas from maintenance and ground keeping i.e. fencing, grass cutting and also supervising outside area for Customers. Leading and developing the staff outside. Needs to have good Health and Safety knowledge and be customer focussed

Successful applicants must also have an outgoing personality with a can do attitude and brilliant attention to detail for this role.

Applicants must also be willing to work weekends and bank holidays. Plus available over all school holidays.

We would offer 32 Hours per week and have this as an hourly paid role. There would be more hours in season but 32 hours off Season.
Person Specification:
Must have a good amount of experience and knowledge of working with animals in a farm environment. The successful candidate will be confident and able to deal with animals of all shapes and sizes. Supervisory skills and experience in team management would be an advantage. Previous experience working in a customer service environment or with children would also be an advantage. Practical skills will be put to good use and a good knowledge and experience using farm vehicles, tools and equipment is required. An energetic approach to this role is needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £14.00 per hour
