An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated individual to join Vaughandale Construction as a Degree Apprentice Quantity Surveyor.

With over 35 years of success in the construction industry, we have a strong track record of developing apprentices into highly skilled construction professionals. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial team with the successful delivery of live projects while developing your knowledge of quantity surveying, estimating, contract administration, and project delivery.

What You'll Be Involved In

Under supervision and as your skills develop, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Issue enquiries to subcontractors for live projects.
  • Attend client meetings and represent Vaughandale professionally.
  • Prepare and issue subcontract orders.
  • Carry out site visits and record progress, including photographs and site information.
  • Undertake on-site measurements and valuations.
  • Assist with cost reconciliation and financial reporting.
  • Support the preparation of variation and additional works costs.
  • Issue enquiries for subcontract works during the tender process.
  • Measure and take off quantities from drawings.
  • Compare and evaluate subcontract quotations.
  • Attend tender and pre-construction site visits.
  • Assist in preparing estimates for small works and refurbishment projects.

What Are We Looking For?

To meet the university entry requirements for the degree apprenticeship, applicants will typically need:

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English.
  • 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification such as:
  • T-Level
  • BTEC National Certificate, Diploma or Extended Diploma
  • Advanced Diploma
  • Other relevant Level 3 BTEC qualifications may also be considered.
  • Mature applicants may be considered with at least five years' relevant industry experience.
