Full job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Art Teacher / Supervisor to run a weekly after-school Art Club at a primary school. This role offers children the chance to explore different art techniques, express themselves creatively, and build confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

The club runs Thursdays, 3:15pm – 4:15pm (1 hour per week).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a small group of primary-aged children in engaging art activities.
  • Plan and deliver enjoyable, age-appropriate sessions that encourage creativity, imagination, and artistic development.
  • Inspire confidence, curiosity, and enjoyment in children’s creative work.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children’s participation and progress.
  • Ensure the art space, materials, and equipment are organised, safe, and ready for each session.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience teaching or leading art activities for children in schools, clubs, or similar settings.
  • Ability to motivate and engage children in a structured yet fun environment.
  • Strong English communication skills for working effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • A background in art, design, education, or creative subjects is desirable.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 per week
