Are you a finance professional looking for a broad-ranging role that also creates social value? We are looking for a Finance Business Partner who is able to support a portfolio of charities, social enterprises and responsible businesses with all their financial management needs.

Working as part of a multi-skilled team of accountants, bookkeepers and consultants to provide an outsource finance service to our amazing clients, you will ideally have a management accounting or business partner background and an accountancy qualification. Experience of working with complex organisations would be advantageous, as would good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and problem-solve. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude who is willing to take on new challenges and learn new skills.

Main duties for the Finance Business Partner:

  • Delivering excellent financial reporting to help our clients make effective decisions.
  • Experience of working with organisational stakeholders at all levels: board, leadership teams, budget holders, and all staff.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and cash flow forecast.
  • The ability to understand, challenge and support the decision-making of values-led organisations, where mission-led outcomes balance with financial goals.
  • Experience of running a budget-setting process.
  • Working with budget holders to set and manage budgets.
  • Improving financial controls and processes.
  • Knowledge of what a strong financial controls environment should look like
  • Managing the balance sheet and ensuring control accounts are reconciled.
  • Project reporting and grant reporting.
  • An understanding of the Charity SORP and liaison with auditors or independent examiners as required.
  • We are Xero partners and seek to be at the forefront of the digitalisation agenda. Experience of cloud accounting and IT adaptability are both important.
  • Experience of managing and coaching a team of staff.
