Join a dynamic and values-driven EP service

The Royal Greenwich Educational Psychology & Wellbeing Service (EPWS) is seeking reflective, creative Educational Psychologists to join our supportive, ambitious and friendly team.

You’ll be working alongside EPs, trainee EPs, assistant EPs, counsellors and specialist practitioners who are committed to ensuring that children and young people are at the heart of everything we do.

“Professionals regularly go the extra mile to make sure that children and young people’s needs are met effectively.” — Ofsted Area SEND Inspection

About the role

Our thriving traded service combines the stability of a local authority with opportunities to deliver preventative, systemic and innovative work. We work within a consultation model, valuing diverse psychological approaches and prioritising child and family-centred practice. Opportunities include involvement in:

  • ELSA and MeLSA
  • Video Interaction Guidance (VIG)
  • Multi-family group work
  • Training, supervision and coaching
  • Organisational and systems consultancy

We are particularly excited to be developing and piloting our ‘Expert at Hand’ offer—an innovative approach providing timely, accessible psychological support at the point of need. You will play a key role in shaping, delivering and evaluating this emerging model.

Specialist opportunities

EPWS plays a key role in the borough’s wellbeing strategy, with opportunities to work alongside:

  • Virtual School
  • ASD Outreach
  • Early Years Inclusion
  • Inclusion Service
  • Youth Justice Service
  • Family Hubs (including parent–infant work)

What we offer

  • Strong, supportive leadership with a clear commitment to staff wellbeing and anti-racist practice
  • Excellent administrative support
  • Comprehensive CPD programme + protected individual CPD time
  • Protected time for projects, innovation and service development
  • Regular clinical supervision (separate from line management)
  • Flexible hybrid working with IT support
  • HCPC fees reimbursed
  • Excellent transport links (including the Elizabeth Line)

We are looking for EPs who:

  • Can apply psychology flexibly within a consultation framework
  • Value strong relationships and collaborative working
  • Are committed to child and family-centred practice
  • Share our commitment to equity, inclusion and anti-racist practice
