1.0wte Digital Therapies Service Post

We are seeking a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join our Digital Therapies Service based in Dudhope House, Dundee. This innovative service supports the delivery of evidence based psychological interventions through digital platforms. The service provides digital interventions for people with mild to moderate mental health conditions such as anxiety and low mood and supports people experiencing long term health conditions.

Working under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist the successful postholder will support patient engagement activities to optimise patients’ uptake and clinical outcomes from accessing a digital intervention. The successful postholder will also assist in quality improvement projects, promoting digital interventions and providing information sessions to people interested in finding out more about digital interventions. The successful postholder will also be involved in the delivery of psychological therapy groups delivered digitally.

The postholder should be able to work within a team as well as independently, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have good organisational abilities. You will hold a minimum of 2:1 undergraduate honours degree in Psychology and be eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society. You will have knowledge of psychological theory and models of application is essential, along with good knowledge of research methodology and data collection.

3.0wte Dundee Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Test of Change (CMHT) posts

The rates at which people have presented to services requesting formal assessment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other Neurodevelopmental Conditions has increased significantly in recent years necessitating a different model of service delivery.

Referrals for ADHD are currently sent to one of two locality-based Community Mental Health Teams in Dundee (East and West). The demand/capacity issues in relation to ADHD and the impact of this in responding to other common clinical problems managed within CMHTs, has resulted in an exciting new 18-month Test of Change situated within the CMHT focusing on the assessment and management of ADHD, including providing advice to other clinicians where this presents in the context of other neurodevelopmental or co-morbid Mental Health conditions.

The emergent model for management of ADHD and other Neurodevelopmental Conditions, is to remove from direct delivery within CMHTs and create new unified Neurodevelopment Condition pathway which shifts the emphasis from diagnosis and, instead, provide support based on need. This pathway redesign project is well underway, and the ADHD Test of Change will be part of this developmental process.

The primary functions of the Dundee ADHD pathway will be:

• Diagnosis
• Initiation/titration of medication (where indicated)
• Health Monitoring within Shared Care agreements

Under supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, the Assistant Psychology posts will primarily be involved in collecting information to support the assessment process including using pre-existing tools and trialling new methods and processes of assessment. The post holders will also be integral in evaluating the Test of Change.

The postholder will be required to form excellent working relationships with Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Medical, and Peer/Clinical Support colleagues in addition to wider mental health services to ensure that the models of care have maximum impact for service users. Excellent relationships with partner organisations will also allow the contribution of peer and other supports to be maximised.

Applicants should have some relevant experience of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, be that within Learning Disability or Adult services. Experience working with other neurodevelopmental conditions is welcomed but not essential.

Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Psychology recognised by the BPS for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership
