Role Overview

Workspace Audio Visual is a leading UK-based Audio Visual system integrator delivering high-quality AV solutions to commercial workplaces, education, and specialist environments. We are looking for a Junior Audio Visual Installation Engineer to join our delivery team and work closely with a Senior AV Engineer on the installation, commissioning, and support of AV systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the AV industry, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies and project types.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Site Work

  • Assist Senior Engineers with the installation of AV systems including:
  • Displays, LED walls, and projection systems
  • Audio systems (speakers, microphones, DSPs)
  • Video conferencing solutions (Teams / Zoom Rooms)
  • Control systems and touch panels
  • Carry out first-fix and second-fix installation works, including:
  • Mounting screens, brackets, and equipment
  • Cable pulling, dressing, and termination (HDMI, CAT6, fibre, speaker cable)
  • Support basic system configuration under supervision

Testing & Commissioning Support

  • Assist with testing and fault-finding of installed systems
  • Support commissioning activities alongside Senior Engineers
  • Ensure systems meet project specifications and quality standards

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Work in line with company health & safety procedures and site regulations
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and organised working environment
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and company assets are looked after correctly

Learning & Development

  • Learn AV standards, best practices, and manufacturer technologies
  • Shadow Senior Engineers to develop troubleshooting and commissioning skills
  • Attend training sessions and manufacturer courses where required

Required Skills & ExperienceEssential

  • Strong interest in Audio Visual, IT, or technology-based systems
  • Basic understanding of AV or IT concepts (through education, hobby, or work experience)
  • Willingness to work on construction and live customer sites
  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards one)

Desirable

  • Previous experience in AV, IT, electrical, or low-voltage installation
  • Knowledge of:
  • HDMI, HDBaseT, CAT5e/CAT6
  • Video conferencing platforms
  • Basic networking concepts
  • ECS / CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)
