Shift pattern: Days and nights available 7:00am - 7:00pm or 7:00pm-7:00am

Starting from £12.21 per hour

At David Wood Foods we have over 20 years’ experience in the bakery business, and if one thing is clear about our company, it’s that we’re passionate about baking! We currently produce a range of quality bread products for Britain’s largest supermarkets, right here from our bakery just outside of the town centre.

Our business has grown from strength to strength over the last 12 months and this has created an exciting opportunity for us to add to our team of bakers. We are looking for energetic and friendly people to join our baking family who will help us to grow and continue to produce high volume, quality products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comply with food safety and health and safety legislation at all times
  • Ensure the timely and efficient production of bakery goods to agreed targets and specifications
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed and to the required standard
  • Work on own initiative and in conjunction with the shift manager to prioritise tasks.
  • Ensure the area of work is a safe place to work within at all times for yourself and others. PPE will be provided and it is your responsibility to ensure that you wear the correct PPE.
  • Adhere to the site ‘Clean as you go’ policy at all times
  • Possess the correct competencies, at the correct level relevant to the job function i.e. Mixing, Wrapping, Oven loading, Divider, De-Panner etc.
  • Proactively and continually strive to improve the production process and working environment.
  • Be professional at all times and possess the values and behaviours adopted by the company
  • Proactively work within multi-disciplined teams in order to achieve agreed objectives.
  • Have a good understanding of the production process
  • Perform other duties as requested by Management.

Skills required

  • Must be of minimum required age for general rules of employment
  • Basic English communication/understanding
  • Good Maths skills
  • Ability to work well within the production team.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, climb, reach, stand, push, pull, lift and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good attitude to work
  • Previous food manufacturing experience an advantage
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum supervision
  • Ability to frequently move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
