Job Title:

Production Shift Manager

Reports to:
Bakery Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Shift Manager to join our hardworking bakery team. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, driving performance, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety across one bakery shift. You will lead a team, manage material flows, oversee production processes, and continuously strive for improvement in efficiency and output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development:
  • Lead, coach, and motivate your team to achieve performance targets and foster a culture of accountability and pride.
  • Manage all people-related activities including training, development, absence management, and performance improvement.
  • Production Management:
  • Oversee all aspects of production during your shift, including material flow, seasoning, ovens, laminator, and weight control.
  • Ensure achievement of production plans and maintain accurate records of performance metrics.
  • Quality & Safety:
  • Drive continuous improvement in food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and proactively address any risks or unsafe practices.
  • Customer Service:
  • Take full responsibility for meeting customer service levels and resolving any service issues promptly.
  • Performance & Efficiency:
  • Monitor and improve OEE, reduce waste, and manage labour costs effectively.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve process or equipment issues.
