Purpose of the job

· To manage ingredient categories strategically and tactically, ensuring optimal supplier performance and alignment with company objectives.

· To deliver cost savings, secure supply continuity, and drive sustainability initiatives.

· To support new product development through timely sourcing of innovative and compliant ingredients.

Key Result Areas

· Strategies for assigned ingredient categories.

· Conduct market analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.

· Negotiate contracts and maintain strong supplier relationships.

· Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and compliance.

· Achieve annual cost reduction targets through negotiations and value engineering.

· Benchmark pricing and track market trends.

· Ensure continuity of supply and develop contingency plans.

· Assess and mitigate risks related to raw material availability and price volatility.

· Support R&D and Operations in ingredient selection for new products.

· Align sourcing decisions with sustainability and regulatory requirements.

· Ensure adherence to food safety, legal, and ethical standards.

· Drive initiatives for sustainable sourcing and supplier audits.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

· Cost Savings: Achieve targeted annual savings

· Supplier Performance: On-time delivery rate, quality compliance score.

· Contract Coverage: % of spend under formal agreements.

· Risk Mitigation: Number of dual-sourced critical ingredients.

· Innovation Support: Timely sourcing for NPD projects (measured by project timelines).

· Sustainability Metrics: % of suppliers meeting sustainability standards

· Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

· Experienced negotiator.

· Deep understanding on business implications and cost drivers related to underlined feedstocks.

· Thrives in ambiguity and times of significant change.

· Thirst for knowledge and the ability to learn quickly.

· Strong relationship builder in a multinational matrix organization with different senior stakeholder interests.

· Excellent communication skills written/verbally with the ability to tell a story with data.

· Spoken and written English, other languages are an advantage.

Skills & Experience

· 5 years in Procurement

· Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management or related

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £45,298.00-£56,622.00 per year
