Job Title: Full-Time Bar & Café Supervisor

Location: 19 The Wine Bar, Lowther Street, Kendal

About Us:

Join the team at 19 The Wine Bar, Kendal’s stylish destination for great food, fine wines, and relaxed social vibes. Set in a beautifully restored Grade II listed building, we offer a unique experience that blends a welcoming daytime café with a vibrant evening wine bar. From our cozy lounge and bespoke iron-work bar to our stunning rooftop terrace, we pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere that’s warm, friendly, and full of character. If you’re passionate about hospitality and want to be part of a team that values quality, creativity, and exceptional service, we’d love to hear from you.

Rate of Pay: £13.00 per hour, increasing to £13.50 subject to a 3 month review.

Hours:

  • Around 35 - 40 hours a week
  • Wednesday to Saturday: 9:30 AM / 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Every other Sunday
  • Friday & Saturday evenings: 6:00 PM – Close (around 12:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
  • Flexibility required for extra hours to cover holidays and large bookings

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and serve drinks behind the bar
  • Take food and drink orders from guests in the café and bar
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar, tables, and service areas
  • Follow responsible alcohol service practices and adhere to licensing laws
  • Handle cash and card payments using the POS system
  • Monitor customer needs and respond promptly to requests
  • Restock supplies throughout your shift
  • Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff for smooth service
  • Uphold hygiene, health, and safety standards
  • Additional tasks: running food, cocktail & hot drink making, cashing up, opening & closing

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a bartender or barista
  • Knowledge of drink mixing and basic bar equipment
  • Barista training preferred, however training can be provided
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Flexible availability for weekend evenings
