Full job description

We are a well-established UK leader in the air conditioning marketplace, and we are looking to recruit An experienced Engineer in the Reading area.

A solutions business supporting both our own innovative cooling and heat pump products, as well as all other makes and types of air conditioning systems. We specialise in chilled water and heat pump systems, equipment, application, service and maintenance. We also provide a comprehensive service on all air conditioning systems including split systems, VRV/VRF systems, Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units etc.

We cover all sectors of the economy not limited to Data Centres, University’s Hospital’s, MOD, Industrial Process Manufacturing, Blue Chip Company HQ, Multi-Tenant Landlord Owned Buildings, Small Private Businesses, Schools, Supermarket & Retail.

As an experienced Engineer, you need to have the following skills:

· A minimum 3 years industry experience.

· L2 vocational qualification in refrigeration/engineering.

· Capable and willing of handling most service work on familiar styles of equipment.

· Capable and willing to carry out any maintenance or installation tasks.

· Capable of leading/supervising installation works when well planned.

· Capable and willing to attend call outs to known sites or known equipment.

· Competent at hot works, brazing, pressure testing, evacuating and charging refrigerant independently.

· Willingness to travel at times. Willingness to attend out of work hour call outs. A solid understanding of refrigerant system principles including expansion valves, fan controls, discharge superheat, compressor power.

Working hours: 45 hours including 0.5hr daily each way travel time (although travel time may be longer and if exceeding 45 hours, overtime will be paid).

Standby on a 10-week rotation, with additional payment for a full week of standby and overtime paid for any site attendance.

Overtime is paid at x1.5 hourly rate. Sunday and bank holidays are paid at x2.0.

25 Days paid holiday + 8 bank holidays.

Company issued silver panel van, 1 row front seats, with air conditioning. Offered with or without reasonable private mileage expenses to suit individual preferences for private travel and tax position.

All specialist tooling can be provided by the company. Engineers are expected provide their own basic hand tools.

Scope of Works & Service Offering (list not exhaustive)

· Water Chillers/Central Cooling Plant Service and Maintenance – Any Type, Any Make.

· Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Service and Maintenance (Cold Rooms, Computer Suites, Splits/VRV).

· Replacement Project Packages for Water Chillers/Packaged Refrigeration Equipment/R22.

· Supply of Energy Efficient Water Chillers/Packaged Refrigeration Plant – Turbomiser/Geoclima/Mitsubishi/Tonon/Daikin.

· UK Geoclima & Turbocor Application Specialists.

· Chiller & Chilled Water Consultancy/F-Gas Audits/Energy Surveys/TM44 Inspections/Water & Air Quality.

· Chilled Water & Refrigerant Bespoke Training.

· On Site Compressor Overhauls, Recip/Screw/Centrif.

· Refrigerant Retrofit & Refrigerant Compliance.

· Hydrocarbon Refrigerants Including Propane & New Blend 4th Gen HFO Refrigerants.

§ Close control/RCU/CRAC and large condensing unit supply and installation.

§ Split System supply and Installation or replacement upgrade. (Daikin D1/Mitsubishi A1).

§ VRV System Installations or replacement upgrade. (Daikin D1/Mitsubishi A1).
