About Us

Longmead Community Farm is a therapeutic and community-focused organisation dedicated to supporting families and individuals in need. Our farm provides a safe, welcoming environment where people can reconnect, learn, and grow. We are seeking a skilled professional to help maintain and improve our facilities through hands-on work and property surveying.

The Role

As a Property Maintenance and Surveying Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving our buildings and grounds. This is a hands-on position, requiring the postholder to undertake repairs and maintenance tasks alongside property surveying and project coordination. You will ensure that all work meets organisational needs and complies with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Undertake repairs and maintenance tasks across farm buildings, residential units, and communal spaces, including masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical work.

· Conduct property surveys and prepare detailed condition reports.

· Plan and deliver specific maintenance and improvement projects aligned with organisational priorities.

· Develop project timelines and budgets for refurbishment and maintenance works.

· Coordinate contractors and suppliers where required.

· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building standards.

What We’re Looking For

· Proven experience in multiple trades, with strong masonry skills (bricklaying, stonework, structural repairs).

· Knowledge of property surveying techniques and building pathology.

· NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant trade or equivalent qualification.

· Understanding of health and safety legislation.

· Ability to work independently and manage resources effectively.

· Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

· Experience in community or agricultural settings.

· Familiarity with sustainability practices and eco-friendly building solutions.

· Competence with digital surveying tools and reporting software.
