Key Attributes and Skills

  • Providing advice and supporting clients in fulfilling their duties under the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations
  • Reviewing plans and designs to ensure compliance for Building Regulation approval
  • Attending client and design team meetings to offer technical guidance
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, developers, and other stakeholder
  • Ensuring project designs meet current legislation and regulatory standards
  • Maintaining high technical and commercial standards across all deliverables
  • Identifying and escalating new business opportunities
  • Building and growing a network of industry contacts
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners across multidisciplinary projects

Ideally, you will be degree-qualified with relevant experience within the construction industry, such as architecture, building control, building surveying, or a similar discipline. A full driving licence and access to your own transport are essential, as some travel will be required.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong understanding of the design and construction process
  • Proven experience inspecting buildings and assessing compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations, codes, and associated legislation
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Membership of RICS, CIAT, CABE, CIOB or a similar professional body
  • An up-to-date record of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Proficiency in SharePoint and other project management tools
  • Ability to produce technical documentation such as End of Design Stage Reports and Building Regulations Trackers
