Balfour Beatty is seeking an Assistant Pre-Construction Manager to support activities from Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) through detailed design to site mobilisation, ensuring smooth progression through the Gated Lifecycle.
Power T&D is entering a phase of significant growth, with major projects advancing into ECI and pre-construction critical stages that bridge business development and delivery, shaping every aspect of execution.
You will work collaboratively across Power T&D to share expertise, drive innovation, and uphold market-leading standards.
What you'll be doing
- Support the Pre-Construction Manager as the main client contact and coordinate deliverables from feasibility through pre-construction to final submission.
- Assist in developing win strategies and ensure high-quality proposals and delivery agreements.
- Work closely with design leads to meet CDM 2015 obligations and promote health & safety by design.
- Ensure Balfour Beatty standards are applied and share best practice across teams.
- Facilitate collaboration within Power T&D and wider BB Group to improve processes and knowledge.
- Prepare monthly reports and communicate key messages to stakeholders.
- Inform resource planning and integrate innovation into feasibility and pre-construction.
- Support BIM Level 2 adoption, 3D design and CGI modelling.
- Organise client deliverables and ensure projects are ‘fit to start’ for site mobilisation.
- Assist with company initiatives (e.g., 25 by 2025, MyC) and support client estimating, planning and regulatory submissions.

- They will have the ability to bring the best out of the pre-construction team while drawing on the capability of other colleagues in the region and the wider business;
- The individual will be from an infrastructure background; with key attributes of technical civil engineering and/or electrical engineering capability combined with a collaborative mindset;
- The individual will be motivated by working in an environment with highly skilled colleagues where continuous improvement and teamwork are part of business as usual.
