Full job description

Overview

CJ Landscapes Ltd is seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations & Sales Manager to build and manage the business functions that power our landscaping projects. This is a hands-on, foundational role for someone who can develop systems from scratch, manage the full sales cycle, streamline operations, and support the growth of the company.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing internal processes, managing job progression, generating new business, and strengthening our sales and marketing activities. If you’re proactive, process-driven, and commercially minded, this role is central to the next stage of our company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities1. Systems & Process Development

  • Design, implement, and manage a Comprehensive Automated Management (CAM) system or similar operational platform.
  • Build workflows that track enquiries, quotes, sales progression, project stages, and job completion.
  • Develop documentation, templates, SOPs, and tracking systems for all operational processes.
  • Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to streamline efficiency across departments.

2. Sales Cycle Management

  • Handle the full end-to-end sales process, including:
  • Responding to enquiries
  • Conducting site visits
  • Preparing quotes and proposals
  • Following up and closing deals
  • Maintain accurate sales records and forecasting.
  • Build strong customer relationships to support repeat business and referrals.

3. Project & Job Progression Tracking

  • Work closely with the landscaping teams to monitor and record job progress.
  • Create systems to track deadlines, resourcing, materials use, and job status.
  • Ensure customers receive timely updates and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project handover, aftercare, and customer satisfaction processes.

4. Marketing & Business Growth

  • Contribute to and execute marketing activities to drive enquiries:
  • Social media campaigns
  • Website updates
  • Email outreach
  • Local advertising
  • Partnership building
  • Support brand positioning and help develop new marketing strategies.
  • Analyse lead quality and conversion rates to improve marketing ROI.

5. Reporting & Performance Measurement

  • Generate regular performance reports on sales, operations, and project progress.
  • Track KPIs such as conversion rates, job profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Present insights to management and make recommendations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in sales, ideally within construction, landscaping, home improvement, or similar industries.
  • Strong background in business operations, process management, or system implementation.
  • Proficient with CRM/CAM platforms and workflow tools.
  • Excellent organisational and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing abilities.
  • Basic to intermediate marketing experience (content creation, social media, campaign support, lead generation).
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of building systems from the ground up.
  • Problem-solving mindset with keen attention to detail.

Personal Qualities

  • Highly proactive and self-driven.
  • Confident decision-maker.
  • Strong time management and multitasking ability.
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable to new tools.
  • Comfortable working across multiple business functions.

Salary

To be discussed — can be tailored to your local market level and whether the role is full-time or hybrid.
