Working as part of a multi-skilled team of accountants, bookkeepers and consultants to provide an outsource finance service to our amazing clients, you will ideally have a management accounting or business partner background and an accountancy qualification. Experience of working with complex organisations would be advantageous, as would good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and problem-solve. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude who is willing to take on new challenges and learn new skills.

Main duties for the Finance Business Partner:

  • Delivering excellent financial reporting to help our clients make effective decisions.
  • Experience of working with organisational stakeholders at all levels: board, leadership teams, budget holders, and all staff.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and cash flow forecast.
  • The ability to understand, challenge and support the decision-making of values-led organisations, where mission-led outcomes balance with financial goals.
  • Experience of running a budget-setting process.
  • Working with budget holders to set and manage budgets.
  • Improving financial controls and processes.
  • Knowledge of what a strong financial controls environment should look like
  • Managing the balance sheet and ensuring control accounts are reconciled.
  • Project reporting and grant reporting.
  • An understanding of the Charity SORP and liaison with auditors or independent examiners as required.
  • We are Xero partners and seek to be at the forefront of the digitalisation agenda. Experience of cloud accounting and IT adaptability are both important.
  • Experience of managing and coaching a team of staff.
  • Leadership within the Adding Value Consultancy team, influencing how the business develops and grows.

Adding Value Consultancy Ltd is a financial management consultancy and accountancy practice with a difference. Our purpose is to help the social economy to thrive, and we do this by providing our professional finance skills to charities, social enterprises, and other purpose-led organisations where social impact and environmental sustainability are as valued as financial success.

We continue to see strong demand for our services and therefore we are looking to grow our team of 22 staff. We pride ourselves on being an approachable and flexible employer that supports our collaborative team approach, focused on outputs and outcomes rather than inputs.
