The Role

As we have a number of hospitality areas across the site, we are seeking skilled & experienced Cafe assistants (NB MUST BE skilled in 'from scratch' coffee making & barista abilities) to support our Food Hall team in ensuring that each of our cafe establishments meet all the required H&S standards, presentation and required day-to-day management to deliver and exceed against our customer expectations. The role will report to the Food Hall Manager.

NB Weekend availability is essential

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Food Hall managerial team in ensuring each on-site cafe destination is opened, closed and maintained with impeccable attention to hygiene and presentation standards and stocked ready for each day
  • Creating high quality hot & cold beverages with skill, pace and flair - must be a competent & experienced barista
  • Ensuring all food & drink safety procedures are followed according to regulations
  • Working closely with the restaurant/cafe floor teams to ensure customer demand is met in a timely and effective manner
  • Following all company policy and procedures regarding dealing with equipment and property
  • Supporting on-site events (private dining and events) to include nights and weekends

Skills & Qualifications

  • A passion for the cafe industry and f&b industry at large with a customer first approach
  • Barista trained with experience in a fast paced, high cover environment (100+ covers)
  • Outstanding food and drink preparation and understanding is a must
  • Exceptional presentation and consistency standards - both personally and beverage wise
  • Excellent understanding of all aspects of how to work in a cafe setting
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure,
  • Organised and structured in approach
  • Ability to work well with others displaying exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
  • Dependable and reliable

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years cafe experience in a fast paced environment
  • Extensive customer service experience (3+ years)
