Full job description

Location: Southsea Beach Cafe, Southsea

Reports to: General Manager

Contract: Part-time, up to 5 hours per week, flexible

Pay: Negotiable, proposal for strategy & budget required

ABOUT THE ROLE

We want a creative, consistent storyteller to promote Southsea Beach Café and our events, through social

media, print, and any relevant marketing format, to build our presence online and in the local community.

You'll work closely with management and our Private Hire Coordinator.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - CONTENT

  • Plan, create and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Linked In
  • Shoot and edit photos and short-form video on site, showing off the café, the seafront setting, our events

and our team.

  • Promote our events and private hire offering, working from the shared calendar with the Private Hire

Coordinator.

  • Plan content ahead in the shared events and content calendar, which management can see and contribute

to.

  • Build our local presence through partnerships and collaborations with businesses, creators and community

groups.

  • Grow our audience and engagement across our channels.
  • Report monthly on reach, engagement, follower growth

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - MARKETING

  • Ensure that all physical channels & website are maximised when promoting
  • Campaign- based marketing for events & private hires
  • Report on event enquiries driven by marketing
  • Email marketing, and increasing email engagement

HOW WE'LL MEASURE SUCCESS

  • Consistent posting against the content calendar
  • Audience and engagement growth
  • Event and private hire enquiries generated through social channels
  • Growth in local profile and partnerships

ABOUT YOU

  • A proven track record running social media for a brand or business; please share examples.
  • Strong photo and short-form video skills, including on a phone.
  • A good writer with a feel for tone of voice.
  • Self-motivated and consistent, delivering without being chased within 5 hours a week.
  • Comfortable with scheduling tools, Meta Business Suite, basic analytics and Canva or similar.
  • Desirable: experience in hospitality or events, and knowledge of the Southsea and Portsmouth community.

Pay: £15.00-£25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 10.0 per week

Work Location: In person
