Arla Foods Oswestry are looking for a proactiveProduction Operative to join the team on a permanent basis. You will play a pivotal role in assisting with the efficient running of the packing lines in the production area within a cheese packaging site.

At our Arla Oswestry site we pack circa 79,000 tonnes or cheese annually, 1620 tonnes per week.
This includes supplying branded products like Castello, BOB and Arla Pro, along with private label to Waitrose, M, Asda and Aldi!

About the job
The successful candidate will work a3 on, 3 off, 12 hours shift pattern that will includebothday and night shifts. They will contribute to the quality and technical areas in the Production team to enable it to produce the highest quality cheese products in a reliable and cost effective way. Duties will include

• Operate production equipment
• Effectively run Packing lines by using production IT systems
• Perform simple maintenance tasks
• Maintain strict Food Hygiene and Health and Safety standards within the department
• Monitor equipment performance and correct / raise issues before they become problems
• Reporting safety issues to maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and surroundings

What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role

• Ambition& drive
• Previous experience working within a similar environment would be beneficial but not essential
• Previous experience with food safety regulations and practices would be beneficial but not essential
• All training and support will be provided during your induction period
• A motivated team player, who can work on their own initiative
• You’re as serious about quality as we are – and ready to work hard to achieve it
• A good attendance record and a willingness to learn further skills
