Make a Real Difference — Volunteer with Lagan’s Foundation!

Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer role where you can make a lifelong difference to children and families?
Would you love to bring a smile to someone’s day?
Got 2 hours or more to spare each week — every Sunday, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm?

Lagan’s Foundation is looking for caring and compassionate volunteers to support families by helping care for children, giving parents the vital break they deserve. The children we support have poorly hearts or feeding difficulties, and your time can make a world of difference to them — and to their families.

About the Role

  • Location: Leyland (PR25) – travel expenses can be claimed
  • Commitment: Minimum of 2 hours per week (Sundays 10:30 am – 12:30 pm)
  • Your role:
  • Attend our induction training
  • Visit the family home to offer hands-on support
  • Play, engage, and care for children aged 0–5 with feeding or cardiac conditions
  • Help with routines such as nappy changes, toileting, or personal care
  • Support with medication administration (full training provided)

What You’ll Get in Return

  • Full, high-quality training and ongoing support
  • Be part of a unique, friendly care team
  • Travel expenses covered
  • Opportunities to fundraise, socialise, and build new skills
  • A fantastic stepping stone into a healthcare career

What We Ask From You

  • A driving licence and car are helpful but not essential
  • Must live within easy reach of PR25 (or be able to travel reliably each week)
  • Able to provide or complete an Enhanced DBS check (on the update system)
  • A kind heart, reliability, and a genuine desire to support families

Interested?

If you would like to help reduce isolation for parents and bring joy to children’s lives, we would love to hear from you!
