Senior Care and Support Assistant

3 Hilltop House, 2 Heldhaw Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP32 7ER

£13.52 per hour

30 hours per week

Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Care and Support Assistant at our CQC registered physical disabilities service at Hilltop House, Bury St Edmunds.

The role of Senior Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Leading a team of Care and Support Assistants and ensuring that customers are being supported in the best way possible
  • Providing personal care and encouraging customers to maximise their independence and personal potential, by building confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments as well as managing and implementing safeguarding principles to ensure the health, safety and security of our customers
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers
  • Completing supervisions

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience supervising staff is desirable
  • Recent experience of working in a similar role with vulnerable people is necessary
  • NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is essential
  • Personalised approach to care with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
