The Indeed Work Happiness Score helps people find work that connects them to a better life and inspires companies to create workplaces that provide people with more of what they need. With 5.5 million happiness surveys completed and counting, this data set is the world’s largest study of work happiness.¹ Indeed continuously collects this data and displays a set of key happiness metrics on employer profiles, providing transparency on workplace happiness.

What is the Indeed Work Happiness Score?
The Work Happiness Score helps people understand how they feel at work and why. This new data set is displayed on thousands of public employer profiles on Indeed, so you can find workplaces that share your values. The Work Happiness Score itself is based on responses to the question 'I feel happy at work most of the time'. This question is asked on a five-point scale (where one means strongly disagree and five means strongly agree), and the resulting scores are represented on a scale of one to 100.
Developed in partnership with leading happiness experts, you can also explore the key drivers of happiness at work below. These dimensions help everyone understand why people feel the way they feel in the workplace:
Happiness: I feel happy at work most of the time.
Purpose: My work has a clear sense of purpose.
Appreciation: There are people at work who appreciate me as a person.
Flexibility: My work has the time and location flexibility I need.
Achievement: I am achieving most of my goals at work.
Support: There are people at work who give me support and encouragement.
Learning: I often learn something at work.
Inclusion: My work environment feels inclusive and respectful of all people.
Energy: In most of my work tasks, I feel energised.
Satisfaction: Overall, I am completely satisfied with my job.
Management: My manager helps me succeed.
Trust: I can trust people in my company.
Compensation: I am paid fairly for my work.
Belonging: I feel a sense of belonging in my company.
Stress-free: I feel stressed at work most of the time.

In that case, you should find an organisation where employees report a high learning score. Are you looking for a welcoming environment? Look for companies that rank high in inclusion.
Work Happiness data is displayed on an organisation's Company Page under the ‘snapshot’ section. Explore the company’s full report to discover their strengths, areas of opportunity and how that compares to what you value most.
