Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Freelance Chef to join our culinary team on a flexible basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for creating exceptional dishes. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse settings, delivering high-quality food while managing various aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations. The Freelance Chef will be responsible for ensuring food safety standards are maintained and providing outstanding service to clients.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to client specifications and recipes
  • Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality in all offerings
  • Supervise and manage a small kitchen team
  • Lead food presentation and ensure dishes meet aesthetic standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
  • Prepare kit and load vans to take to onsite kitchens at weddings and events around the county.
  • Work alongside the front of house manager to ensure service and delivery of food is in accordance with our standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in culinary roles within hospitality or restaurant environments
  • Strong background in food production, cooking, and kitchen management
  • Excellent skills in food preparation, presentation, and service delivery
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
  • Experience in restaurant or catering settings preferred
  • Ability to manage team dynamics effectively while maintaining high standards of quality
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work independently as a freelance professional

This role will involve working at our base in Tewkesbury and also at our weddings and event venues across Gloucestershire.

A full UK Driving license must be held and you will be expected to drive the catering vans

Pay: From £18.00 per hour
