Location: Lymington, Hampshire. UK
Salary: £12.21 per hour

Hours: two vacancies available:

  • 12 hours per week working 7.30am-2pm (Mondays and Tuesdays)
  • 12.5 hours per week, working 2.5 hours each day (Monday – Friday) either early mornings or evenings)

Our dedicated team ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. We are seeking a hardworking and caring Domestic Assistant to join our team and contribute to the comfort and well-being of those in our care.

The Role:

As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospice. You will work within the Hospice cleaning programmes and specific daily working schedules to achieve and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintain cleanliness across patient areas, communal spaces, and offices. Including vacuuming, mopping, general cleaning and emptying of bins appropriately, including clinical waste, providing a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors.

· Ensure infection control procedures are followed at all times.

· Work as part of a team to meet high hygiene and safety standards.

· Safely use cleaning materials and equipment in accordance with Health & Safety standards training and guidelines.

· Report any maintenance or health and safety issues promptly.

· Offer a friendly and respectful approach when interacting with patients and families.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

· Previous experience ideally gained in a clinical setting

· An understanding of infection control and health and safety procedures (training provided).

· The ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

· Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness.

· Excellent time management skills and communication skills and be sensitive to the needs of patients and their visitors.
