Stress full & inconsistant
Customer Support Technical Specialist Tier 2 (Former Employee) - Bournemouth - 30 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? the building is nice, staff are ok What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Dealing with management, HR are lacking well humanity. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? stressful & performance-based, but co-operative. What is a typical day like for you at the company? starts with an unhelpful standup to remind you that you are not working hard enough, and then you start work.

Smoke Screen, Lacks Respect & Values for a Professional Customer Service Experience
Onboarding (Former Employee) - Bournemouth, Dorset - 4 March 2023
From my experience if you like to be cramped in like a battery hen, enjoy long weekends off, Fun, Quizzes lots of Clapping & Loud Music (so you can’t hear the customer) this is the job for you. However, once you get under the bonnet it will soon expose itself as a culture which, lacks professionalism and good customer service. You are constantly dealing with irate and dissatisfied customers, constantly passing the Buck to other department who pass the Buck…and nothing gets done for that Customer, and where you are restricted to using your own initiative or C/S skills to actually help. The culture is very Robotical & Generic, Fake friendliness that soon fades, Clicks, gossip groups and you are soon isolated if you say question anything?…. If you have any Maturity, Professional or Integrity give this a miss unless, you enjoy being patronized, taught how to ‘Suck Eggs’ by members of staff where you Teeth Fillings are older?!!..Not Surprising that this company have such a large turnover of Staff, it’s a Swing Door Company.
Pros
Beautiful Building, Fancy coffee Machines
Cons
Generic, Robotical, Culture with no real personality

No Support, All Staff over worked & under appreciated
Onboarding Specialist (Former Employee) - Bournemouth - 20 February 2023
No training program offered even though they are a large company and they know many people joining them have never worked in the telecommunications industry before. They hand you a laptop and if you're lucky, you may get to shadow someone for a few days (no where near enough to learn their convoluted ways of doing things). Just as you start to pick something up, they change the process or tech the company uses so you have to start from scratch. Everyone is over worked and under paid. The customers are complaining constantly because they are promised things we cannot deliver on, especially with the constant strikes at BT. They allow Sales staff to promise connections when there is no local set up in the customers area so you get screamed at when you have to advise the client that they were miss-sold. You're expected to hit the same figures as any experienced staff still there even though you've only been there a few weeks and not had any support along the way. They're happy to give you a One-to-One and tell you where you're failing to hit target, but when you ask for help, they'll just lie and say "Yeah sure, we can do that!". Three weeks later when you ask when you're going to get the help they promised, they just say they've been too busy and couldn't spare the staff to train you, because heaven forbid the managers should get their hands dirty. This will happen time & time again. I've heard so many similar stories from other staff and seen others burst in to tears at their desk because they can't keep up with the work load whilst being screamed at by customers and talked -
Pros
Early finish on Friday
Cons
No Help, No Support, No Understanding & No clue how to change or desire to.

Great people, a lot of opportunity
Marketing Manager (Former Employee) - Bournemouth - 17 February 2023
4Com is one of those places that is what you make it; there's a lot of opportunities both in your starting role and then more widely as you progress and your experience grows. They give you plenty of chances to further your skills and your career. The people are genuine, and the charity work is great to be a part of.
Pros
The people, the charity work

Smash and grab
Field Sales Executive (Telecoms B2B) (Former Employee) - Bournemouth - 15 February 2023
Great training, intense but if you’re up for it and enjoy challenge - great! Unfair appointments , unrealistic and unachievable in the absence of opportunity. But definitely achievable if lucky enough to get opportunity. Great training, ongoing, motivational, hard work and good rewards.. but be prepared to be paid zero once they decide you’re the wrong ‘fit’ ..
Pros
Talent, structure, slick
Cons
Not paying you fairly once you’re ‘spent’ ie expect all your final pay to be£0

Difficult
Businesses solutions executive (Former Employee) - Bournemouth, Dorset - 19 January 2023
Extremely competitive, typical sales environment you either meet the targets and reap the benefits, or you fall short and leave either of your own volition or you are escorted off the premises
Pros
Free lunch sometimes, incentives
Cons
Difficult environment

Fun but stressful
Business solutions executive (Former Employee) - Bournemouth - 1 January 2023
The job was great and fun and a huge adventure however it was very stressful and you constantly have to meet targets. People get fired often. The job security was very bad but they treat you well if you put in effort.
Pros
Team games
Cons

Exciting, growing company & thriving atmosphere
Head of Technical (Former Employee) - Bournemouth, Dorset - 4 November 2022
Since starting at 4com the culture is one-of-a-kind. The positive, motivational and friendly nature of colleagues across all areas of the business really drives the "family" feel, the comradery is certainly the best aspect of working here. The company is growing at an exciting rate; it's fast-paced, tons of opportunities to progress and develop yourself and lots of supportive leaders to mentor you. I work in the Technical area of the business and the flag-ship product is unique to the market. Working on the front-line of cutting edge technology is definitely something I am proud of! Overall a great ambitious company, one I genuinely love working for.
Pros
great benefits, £200 energy support bonus, incredible culture, strong leadership, stunning office with sea views

Fast-paced, fun & great place to work!
Operations Manager (Current Employee) - Bournemouth, Dorset - 28 October 2022
I started at 4com 6 years ago as a receptionist and have had incredible support from my line managers over years who recognised my skillset and encouraged me to progress into management. After 2 years with the company I was promoted to a Team Leader, 2 years after that I am now an Operations Manager, in which the company are now paying for me to complete a qualification in Leadership & Management. I love coming into work due to the people I work with and the support I receive from my fellow colleagues. 4Com was the first office job I had after completing my A-Levels, I have gained numerous transferrable skills which will benefit me in any role, from experienced leaders across the business.
Pros
Free lunches once a month and fun floor activities.

Supportive environment and a kind culture
Receptionist (Current Employee) - Bournemouth, Dorset - 25 October 2022
4 Com is great because it not only supports but encourages you to grow and take on different roles in the company, which is great if you're unsure what sort if career industry to explore. I would recommend working for 4 Com to everyone that values a company bonded by a strong company culture. So many friendly faces around, and the company bonus to help with the cost of living at the moment has been a great help!
Pros
£200 monthly bonus
Cons
Not everyone has on site parking

New to role but loving it!
Receptionist (Current Employee) - Bournemouth, Dorset - 25 October 2022
Great company to work for, career progression opportunities, pay rises that reflect inflation, the most approachable leadership team I have ever met, I have so much respect and admiration for my manager who is kind, understanding, she takes her time, is empathetic, she listens to us and tackles problems with us, leading by example! All the benefits are great but the people make the company.

Fast paced and competitive
Business solutions executive (Former Employee) - Bournemouth, Dorset - 30 September 2022
The benefits are great! Company car and opportunity to make loads of commission, however the job is really difficult you have to have a thick skin and a lot of resilience. It is a fun environment but can be a bit ruthless if you don’t perform.
Pros
Company car, good commission
Cons
Stressful, ruthless

Toxic work environment
Field Sales Executive (Former Employee) - Nationwide - 23 September 2022
4com... more like 4con, I worked as a field sales executive. They hire anywhere between 6-10 executives at the time, and they'll keep 1 or two of them... the others they'll let go weekly to keep everyone on their toes. When out In the field they offer very little training on the actual product. I managed to last longer than most. But realistically you'll be gone in a couple months. Also don't expect to be paid commission after they let you go... they will make up some excuse why all your commission is wiped out. My advice, stay away from this company... the basic seems nice, but you'll be doing 70+ hours a week, and commission is awful, of 6k commission that was meant to be paid I got a grand total of 270 pound extra. The contracts you'll be signing their customers up too will be life unless they can afford to spend 40+k to buy out the contract. My advice... do yourself a favour stay away from this company... there's plenty of other sales companies out there where you can earn a lot more and be treated with respect rather than mocked and belittled. Don't be fooled by the big basic... this is a bad company to work for I have a few friends who own their own businesses and I would not let them sign a 4com contract.

Awful place
Field Sales (Former Employee) - Bournemouth, Dorset - 13 June 2022
You will be walking into a company that bully it’s staff, expect you to work away all week and you don’t finish until 22:00pm most evenings. I would avoid this place if you need work life balance
