Not everyone's cup of tea

The most useful review selected by IndeedAt the beginning it was amazing to work for but then it started to go down hill as the work load increased. However I'd cracked the job and was good at it hence it went well for me. The issue is when I left. I mean I needed to leave to take a month off for family emergency and return to resume employment. That was agreed with both parties. Prior to this though, like any business I had annual leave which I took and it was authorized and was to be paid despite not had accrued them at the time. Had I stayed within employment it would have been paid (despite not accrued) but because I temporarily left, this meant (like they've done with other employees that left) they didn't pay my holiday pay. They didn't inform me of the changes and I only found out after contacting them whilst away and they said because I hadn't accured them. Hang on, if I didn't accured them then why authorize my paid annual leave. Which meant I would have been paid for them if my employment didn't temporarily terminate, which they did. They deduct my rightfully owed money from my wages. They had taken half of the final wage of a colleague that left a month before me for no reason. This seems to be a regular occurrence. They seem to burn all bridges. I mean I loved working there but they committed that felony and that really upset me. So I had to not return. However. Everything has been documented and I've sought advice from citizens advice, whom gave me some positive hope!! Sad that someone would do that for a bit of money.

Great place to work

They have lots of work so i have had two friends join the company as well. The work is busy but with the training I had its been ok, the commercial manager is nice and has completed training with me. They supply all cleaning equipment and i do me section, if someone is ill i have helped out to get the school ready for the next day. They rang and offered work in another school but i could not drive so i just do mine. The team i work with are amazing and we get in well. I am happy doing the work

Fantastic Onboarding

On a typical work day I would help to clean the site I was allocated and was given clear instructions on what sections were mine The team I was with were friendly and made me feel comfortable. The onboarding process was also smooth Pay always received correctly

Avoid at all costs

Terrible company to work for and they'll rip you off with wages at any opportunity. You'll be out for 60/70 hours a week as a mobile cleaner and be lucky to be paid 30 hours. They won't pay any travelling between jobs only when you're on site. They will reject holiday requests no matter how many months in advance you book it. Avoid at all costs a terrible company to work for.

Management are Condescending

Staff are amazing very lovely, job is pretty simple to do but have to be fast paced, if someone doesn’t show up they don’t find cover either your expected to do your sections and the other too so xtra work for same wage, management don’t care, I was in hospital very sick and got asked to go in to work the next day and when I had explained no I’m going to need a week off to recover I was told “the job is obviously not for me” and that they are going to have a think about weather they wanted to keep me on, Sorry but I would rather work hard for a company that cares about their staff

Horrible and stressful most of the managers are bullies no care at all . spoken to like a children always waiting for stock , liars and hard to get holidays that are owed to you.

Supportive Team
Cleaning Operative (Former Employee) - Bristol - 27 September 2022
I started a cleaning role with A&R Services in an office building and on the first day I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it. From the outset, I was given good training so I knew what was expected of me and I then felt comfortable. I worked alongside a nice team who became friends, I also felt like I could speak to management if I had any issues.

Promising start but same as the rest in the end

I have to say that the company can be great but the owners need to look a bit closer to what's in front of them because if not it could end up damaging what they have built.
