Disorganised and a culture of micro-management
Learning & Development (Former Employee) - Halifax - 7 September 2020
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedA-SAFE are very dated in their people practices, procedures and policies. There is a distinct lack of trust towards employees where all staff have to clock in and out, random drugs testing and a draconian culture. To arrange meetings, there is a requirement to gain authorisation from managers. Communication is sadly a major problem. On the surface they have tried to address some of their problems, however revert back to their draconian ways. The company values are not being embedded by senior management and this is evident with their lack of transparency, bullying and lack of valuing those who work extremely hard. They have many wonderfully talented employees who deserve to be valued, trusted and respected to do the job that they are more than capable to do. Middle management is poor, unprofessional and in some cases incompetent. The company has a lot of potential if only they could learn to trust their employees, lose their old fashioned practices, listen to their employees rather than disciplining them for giving constructive feedback.
Pros
Their employees.
Cons
Micro-management, poor pay, middle management, draconian policies and practices, bullying culture, tokenistic company values.

Terrible Company. Avoid!!!!
Manager (Former Employee) - Elland, West Yorkshire - 23 October 2021
Never seen such a terrible company where solution to every problem is sacking employees. Disgusting management, no benefits, no recognition, horrendous working environment. If you want to wake up each morning with feeling of utter dread, bad headache with vomiting feeling then A-Safe is the company for you. Utterly vile management. Very high employees' turnover.

Insights into A-SAFE
Areas for improvement
- Clear sense of purpose
- Inclusive work environment
- Trust in colleagues
Boring slow miserable workplace.
Production Operative (Former Employee) - Elland, West Yorkshire - 29 April 2021
Pretty much the worst place I've ever worked. Slow boring repetitive jobs with no training and long gaps between work stood doing nothing. Most people who are contracted there have a job, temps are only there just in case they might be needed otherwise they are left standing about, sometimes for literally hours waiting for work. Go there at your peril.
Pros
Only if you are managemwnt.
Cons

Management is disorganised
Engineer (Current Employee) - Elland, West Yorkshire - 28 January 2020
Nothing is organised therefore there is constant firefighting. There is a culture of bully that hr seem to lack the power or inclination to deal with.
