Assistant in London, Greater London

A stepping stone to a career in mediaFlexible working hours, coming around 9am and leaving aroung 5:30pm, they have an agile working environment, making it easy to get to know your colleagues from other departments, and with the size of the company being quite small, it was very easy to get to know everyone, from a senior level to an assistant level. Management, well, management needs training and support, could have been better. Workplace culture was amazing, very sociable lot, always going out, there always in-house events and charity events to make you feel included and welcomed. Hardest part of the job was the sheer amount of work you had to do for very little money, and lack of recognition. Enjoyable part of the work is being able to get involved in many different projects, even outside your own department. It's a good first job for anyone wanting a career in media, learn as much as you can from there, and then get out, it's not the sort of company that will nourish your ambitions, in fact they stifle them.
