Dealing with large volume of public. Being a good problem solver. Quick thinking, good listener. Team working, knowledgeable, shift working. Good customer service skills, proactive.
Pros
Free travel
Cons
Extremely stressful at times.
Interst place management coulddo lot more to help not use out problems to get people out saying cannot trust you when you work they for fifteen years and not parking about yr wellbeing they saw away get out no help did not want to know should not been treating how I was total disgrace had work colleague pull someone of they bike management do noting he keep is job how is that right
Pros
Good
Cons
Fine
The people you'll work with most of the time will be great, but the management will spend most of their time breathing down your neck to find the smallest fault, or they're ignoring your requests for basic needs like cleaning supplies, personal protection and proper heating
Pros
decent pay
Cons
Long hours and poor management
Had an opportunity to learn new things in the railway industry. They still gan some old stock running in service abd out of date. Very slow in getting IT to set up
Pros
New set of trains
Cons
IT issues
Worked at London Liverpool Street as Train Presentation for Greater Anglia (under Blue Arrow agency)
Colleagues were a laugh and easy to get on with: They’ll definitely help you NOT lose your sanity.
The difficulty of the job isn’t so strenuous.
Some of the team leaders lack of English speaking can make it difficult
Pros
Colleagues are easy to get along with, will guide you if needed.
Cons
Poor leadership from some Team Leaders
Had the best 13 years of my working life here, like any job you have your bad days but very far and threw between, very sad to leave but time for the next chapter.
Pros
Great benefits
Cons
People aways asking if I can get them free tickets.
Great place to work - challenging but fun.
The workplace culture is fair.
Each day can be different depending on the job you are applying for.
Colleagues are helpful.
There are many training opportunities.
working for GA has created pride in all new projects, you feel a part of a diverse team organised to succeed.
GA understand the pressure we are under to deliver projects on time and show their appreciation.
Senior management detached/ not visible from staff on the ground.
Communications not received from senior management strategy
Expecatations change to frequently, no time for culture to embed.
I worked at Ilford Depot as assistant contracts manager and thoroughly enjoyed my time at GA as the working environment and colleagues were all very genuine, kind, polite and made coming to work a joy.
Help us improve!
Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?
Most of the management there have no idea what they are doing, and don't care about their maintenance staff. Been trying to offload everyone and hire contractors only for a good while now.
There is no structure to progress, meaning if you start as a ticket office clerk that's what you'll be till you retire unless you leave the company. Favouritism and discrimination are rife, you can only progress if you know someone in management. The welfare of workers is of importance, no empathy
Worked here for 10 years and was a great place to work, freindly and fare in everything. Was a great place to begin my driving at, gave me all the help and support I needed.
great pay and great benefits great people you will get to know a lot about the railway and what needed in a day to day working life
great Anglia runs trains from Cambridge north to London
This company promised so much and sadly did not deliver. There is a sexist caveman culture at senior management level, which was tolerated by heads of department who actively engaged in this unacceptable behaviour. Avoid if you want to work for a caring employer.
Company is ok but the management is poor unfortunately. No progression or support even if you spend your whole life with them.Poor pay for the job.You have confrontations on a daily basis as you have to challenge tourists for penalty fare.
Lack of communication is a big issue.
Favouritism, not well organised and very little if any positive feedback, only negative.
No team meetings or updates.
