Great company to work for

Flexible hours, nice management, very good training , can also do your NVQ’s with them at your cost but taken in parts from wages so don’t really notice , working close to home and mileage was paid from first appointment and home from last

Pros

Local work

Cons

Can sometimes be quite long gaps between jobs

The best training, but Long hours and under paid

I did love working for Abi care. The staff and service users were amazing. The Training was the best I’ve ever been on, and totally prepared you for going out into the community and gave me so much confidence in being able to give the best care to my service users. Massive down falls was being out working from 6am to 10pm (Long day) you don’t get paid for the whole day. expected to work more and more hours even when you’ve said no. being on the rota to work you’re days off without asking first. My pay was never right at the end of the month always under paid.

Pros

Excellent training, rewarding

Cons

Long hours, underpaid

We are sorry that you've decided to leave Abicare.  We endeavour to work flexibly with our carers to ensure they have a rota that fits in with their life. Care work can be unsociable hours, but we do pay hours worked, travel time, and mileage.

Bad management

When I started at the company I had a days shadowing (meant to be 3) and was forced to go out on my own. For the first couple of months the hours were good but they’ve now partnered with another company and those staff have got all the hours. I’m a full time staff member and 4 days a week I’m only working 2 hours a day and the other days I work 5! Office staff don’t address concerns raised either and can be quite rude. Don’t work for this place!!

We would like to apologise that you are not being allocated the hours, as we always need carers with flexible availability. We would love the opportunity to sort this issue out with you, so please do get in touch with your manager, who will work with you and your availability.

Worst care company in Dorset.

This company takes advantage of staff. Pay is awful, it works out less than minimum wage when you count your travel times and half hour gaps between calls. They will ring and ring your home phone on your days off until you pick up and try to make you go out and do 15 minute calls miles away from where you live. If you refuse, your next shifts will be with the hardest clients. Or they will just give you a few half hour calls with huge gaps In between. Avoid this company at all cost unless you like being exploited.

Pros

Most clients are nice

Cons

Horrible and abusive management.

the most uncaring care company

You do not become a care worker for the sallery you become a care worker because you CARE. Abicare does far from that. Not enough care workers for service users, people left with out calls, safeguardings coming out their ears and all they care about is the next contract to bring in more money for the business. You only need to read the cqc reports to find out for yourself.

Pros

the lovely service users

Cons

abicare!!

Terrible - worst plave i have ever worked

Honestly this service is shocking. The manager is a bully and the staff are just not taken care of. This company does not care about its clients or staff and did I mention the manager is a nasty bully?

Pros

Plenty of work

Cons

Manager is awful

good fun and nice people to work with

love the job just needs a bit more communication, days are long and also i learn what each client wants and the way they want it. The hardest part of the job is when the clients are coming to the end of there lives and you don't really get to say goodbye to them.and the most enjoyable part is going in and putting a smile of there faces or just cheering them up.

Pros

shift work

Cons

no travel time, getting paid by the minute, no communicating, very long hours
