Chef in Eastbourne

Not bad
Most of the things I enjoyed about my time working with abm were due to the site I worked on, however abm were not bad to work for in general. Although we went through area managers like no tomorrow, they were generally content to let us run the site hands off as we had a decent handle on it, which was mostly a fairly good thing. Management were fairly receptive to new ideas too. I was offered advancement opportunities and worked my way from KP to chef, which was fantastic.Bit of a kick in the teeth being made to work Christmas Day and not being paid any extra though, and they didn't seem to care when one of our chefs suddenly quit one day- the rest of us simply covered it, sometimes having to take 12 hr shifts when someone booked holiday as there was now nobody else to fill in. Training was weak, especially when newer staff needed it in regards to things like hygiene and safety.

I worked as a catering manager for abm and from the first day not enough staff their excuss is no money in budget no support from area until anything goes wrong then they all arrive for interigion sessions. I have never worked for a company that destroys good people forced out for speaking out heaven forbid you disagree with anything then you are out supposed to work 40 hours most weeks 60 to 70 hours just to keep head above water woth no thanks.

Stressful, poorly paid workplace
Always understaffed, and never send cover, so essentially doing the Job of two people for no extra pay while they pocket the the money as they don’t pay sick pay.
