General Operative (Former Employee) - Doncaster - 25 April 2023
I working for this company ABP with agency staffline the worst experience of my life in a factory...all they can't speak in English you will see only Polish and Slovakia people..the management is not good at all...They don't give you days of working They give you only 2 3 days per week and sometimes they send you home because they have space only for Polish people...if you are a new worker they treat you like a slaves...ALL WHAT THEY LEARN YOU AND YOU SIGN ABOUT HEALTH AND SAFETY they forgot about that inside of factory they don't respect nothing

Rather not
Warehouse Operative - Night Shift (Current Employee) - Perth - 16 March 2023
If you don't value yourself and your self worth. This is the place for you. Nothing is properly explained or no full job description is presented. HR IS COMPLETELY ON company interest only.So your complaints are laughed at. If you desire to succeed be sure to be part of the family or friend ladder. Nepotism is culture moto. Just don't even bother to start ...
Pros
None
Cons
Maximum input for minimum pay

Horrible management
Despatch Operative (Current Employee) - Langport, Somerset - 25 February 2023
By far the most unpleasant place I’ve ever worked in. Management couldn’t careless about the staff. No communication, no chance of promotion. Most people leave after a week if not a couple of days.

Productive workplace
Packing Operative (Former Employee) - Kingswinford - 23 February 2023
Very fast paced and majority of the people work as a team and make the place fun to work at but employees are treated very inhumane like they are robots being controlled. The company pick and choose who they want to help develop within the business or help with health problems. The company promotes mental health awareness but I’ve witnessed several people being dismissed from the job instead of the company helping them like they claim to do. Management are very sly and dishonest.
Pros
Friendly people
Cons
Unfair treatment to employees

Jobs at ABP UK
Work you into the ground
Butcher (Former Employee) - Kingswinford - 15 February 2023
Worked at abp Kingswinford for around 1 year and I have never been so rundown and depressed in all my life when I first started everything was great but then putting to much pressure on butchers working long hours at fast pace all day no one I know there likes the job managers and ceo just want to work until you are run into the ground horrible place to work would never go back in all my life. No wonder they are always short staffed and people leave weekly.
Pros
Moneys ok
Cons
Long hours and work you until your on death's door

It's good if you have no other choice
Abattoir operative (Former Employee) - Perth - 12 February 2023
I worked about 5 years there with a gap of about half a year. Definetly not for the faint hearted. Work is hard, working conditions even harder. Depending where you work in there the wage can go from barely over the minimum legal wage to a decent wage but no matter how much you earn it is still not enough to justify the way that the management are treating their staff. The staff turnover is unbelievable and work ethic is very bad. The better you are at something the more stress is being put on you to pick up the slack. If you have no other option or you barely speak the language it's a good place to work for a short period of time untill you get on your feet but i would definetly not advise it for a longer period of time.
Pros
Subsidised canteen, free parking
Cons
Bad management and lack of respect for the workers

Do not waste your time to apply for this position.
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Doncaster, South Yorkshire - 14 December 2022
Worst company to be employed by. Don’t bother applying as they will give you an induction date only and will delay you to work as they’re more keen to pick people from their own country as it seems like the company in doncaster is run by foreigners from Romania and Poland. Disappointed

Not great
Worked here for a couple of years. Was very similar to a sweat shop. No talking allowed at all. Very strict. Management not helpful at all. Wouldn’t recommend working here to anyone I know
Pros
No weekend work
Cons
Poor work conditions

Overrated.
Production Operative (Current Employee) - Leeming Bar - 8 December 2022
At first glance, it seems like a fairly organised workplace. But as time passes, more and more opposing truths start to materialise alongside the acknowledgement of more departments brought by experience and role diversity.

Picker/Packer (Former Employee) - Shrewsbury - 25 October 2022
If your an English person stay away ! Everyone there is a different language. They treat you like dirt, so rude and disrespectful every day. They do nothing but shout at you. Absolutely toxic environment to work in, if you want chronic back and neck pain everyday I recommend you go here !
Pros
None.
Cons
Everything/Everyone

It is a factory
Production Operative (Former Employee) - Lurgan - 28 September 2022
The job is very monotonous and heavy. It is not the type of job suitable for everybody or any age. It requires strenght and time. The pay is fair ( it wouldnt be bad some incentives, especially on busy days).

Work was good but management ruined it
Line Quality Controller (Former Employee) - Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire - 9 August 2022
Due to the workplace hiring staff from many different backgrounds and ethnicities the management was at times racist and prejudiced towards many. Work was okay, relatively varied, and never the same. Hard work as long hours. 10 hours shifts, 5 days a week. Very tired on a Friday. Good pay, decent quality canteen.
Pros
Subsadised canteen, decent wage, no weekends
Cons
Racist/bullying management, no interest in improving - just the bare minimum. Morally a hard place to work
