Not the best
Driver (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 17 November 2023
Controller bias but exective rates are good, better than Uber however you need to sometimes wait a long time for the job and have to prebook from a website where thousands of drivers book before you so you end up having to do short jobs that nobody wants.

Jobs at Addison Lee
Productive and fun work place
Taxi Driver (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - 12 October 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The best company in the Uk I do really recommend Addison Lee to all PCO Drivers atm we are extremely busy and it’s time to earn reasonable money. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Sometimes the controller guys have no patience but end of the day they are under pressure and I understand that…. All good Let’s work and make money There no stress if you are clever just work and don’t get stress What is the work environment and culture like at the company? I work with Addison Lee for 8 years I learned a lot how to treat people with respect and be honest and serious then all go smoothly What is a typical day like for you at the company? Fridays is very busy day and I love Fridays … anyway atm every day is really busy thanks god

try elsewhere
What is the best part of working at the company? you can choose your own hours, but even that has a down side. If you do not choose the hours they want you to choose then the number and types of jobs offered are seriously downgraded. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? dealing with the staff in the offices. they promise support but they dont tell you that the support is not there if you do not do the hours they require. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? there are 2 companies within addison lee. the office staff that are all together and then there are the drivers who are pretty much told to shut up and get on with it What is a typical day like for you at the company? its great if you can just get the jobs through your device. really goes downhill as soon as you have to speak with the god like controllers

Driver (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 1 September 2023
Long hours to make decent income, but great clients probably the best in the business. Good support structure, and management plus company car, would recommend to anyone starting in the industry.

Busy days are better than quiet
Customer centre advisor (Former Employee) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - 17 August 2023
not too bad of a place to work pay does not match the amount of work you are expected to do. You’re training group will be your main point in contact through working
Pros
Good break times
Cons
No one is valued at all

Quite season is rough
Private Hire Driver (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 27 July 2023
As far as minicab firms go, they are probably the best I’ve experienced so far as they have a decent infrastructure and actual human contact, and their client base is second to none, however you do suffer in the off season barely making rent

good place to work
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Peterborough - 21 July 2023
Good place to work, lots of positive individuals. 3 week training programme is a lot to take on but you have a laugh along the way! They often have pizza day, have fun workshops, bring in bakery goods which makes work fun. The company is strict regarding late's and absence policies! So if you aren't punctual this job isn't for you!
Pros
engagement and the training provided
Cons
long hours and strict on adherance

I have been with the business for nearly 5 years, I have worked in multiple departments. I have constant support from my manager, and more importantly trust from my manager.

You get punished for being new
Driver (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 21 July 2023
Do your self a favour and avoid at all cost, as a new driver your are expected to work off the scraps of jobs that the longer serving drivers don’t won’t. AL have to many drivers and not enough jobs, the new pay structure is a bit of a scam and in fact your not really much better off that on how the old system worked (unless you have been with the company for years and can pick the good jobs) I will be leaving as soon as my rental agreement is up.
Pros
There are genuinely none
Cons
Too many drivers, failed system of allocating 1st job so if you are new you get the scraps that no one else wants, AL effectively takes 30% of what they charge a customer so rates are really bad.

Great place to work
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - 20 July 2023
Since starting I’ve really enjoyed my time at Addison Lee. The training period was really helpful and the training team were so supportive. It’s a very fast paced environment and a very enjoyable place to work.

Ok company to work for
Driver (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 15 July 2023
Started recently, but seems like a good company overall. It is a competitive market so you cannot be busy doing jobs all day everyday. Pay is decent per job.

Self Employed Courier (Current Employee) - London - 3 July 2023
They don’t care about if you have kids. The money is rubbish the company just going down every year. The minimum jobs is £4.25 sometimes I get only one job to waste your time about 30 minutes. Good luck
Pros
You have Saturday and Sunday off
Cons
Job pay work hard 10 hours 100, 00

Avoid like the plague
Call Centre Agent (Former Employee) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - 20 June 2023
Managers get irritated when you ask them a question even if you just started working there. You have to respond to so called ‘managers’ that have 3 GCSEs and 2 brain cells all together. They sell you a dream during their ‘academy’ portraying the company as the best place to ever work at, when in fact it’s awful. Don’t be surprised if you catch the ‘lovely’ brand standard team speaking badly about you behind your back. Company is so bad I don’t even know how they’re still in service and customers will blame you for it. You will get shouted at on the phone and if customer asks for a manager, managers will tell you to refuse it because they don’t want to deal with it, you should deal with it. If at some point they have to take a call, they will complain about it for the next 5 working days and make unfunny jokes with you about how they hate you for transferring an angry customer to them. Boring and repetitive. Not worth the pay at all. People leave so often that they employ new groups of 5-10 people every month. Just avoid both working here and using this awful company.

Was really good beforehand Uber and others came to the party
Driver (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 15 June 2023
Well a loved place to earn your living as a driver in London up to around 2014, but since then things completely has changed. Management, ownership, customer base, totally different ever since and many left for the more successful apps. There are some drivers, older fellas that has always been treated different as they use to make to most out of it, perhaps they still do. Anyway, I have gone long ago and no plans to return to this business. Driving is difficult these days everywhere.
