Insights into Adecco
What people like
- Fair pay for job
- Clear sense of purpose
- Ability to meet personal goals
Areas for improvement
- Sense of belonging
Extremely proactive managers
Telephone Operator (Former Employee) - Glasgow - 20 July 2022
The managersseemed not to a sense of comradeship. Instead they presented impossible targets in performance that only a small percentage achieved. You were forced to harrang clients or to condescend to customer priority.
Pros
None to speak of.
Cons
Managers indiffere ce to the tasks set for staff.

Bunch of useless sheep
Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) - Glasgow - 14 February 2021
Not one of the management know what hard work is and they seem to change a few rules everyday. They don't pay you in time. They don't pay you when you have to self isolate and they don't give you holidays that you ate entitled to.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Management

Agency role, not secure in national crisis
Driver/Storeman (Former Employee) - Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow - 28 March 2020
This was a mixed role; I could spend a day, or part of, working on my own organising store rooms which was physically demanding and I could spend the rest of the day delivering parts/consumables through the whole Glasgow area and/or supporting colleagues on site visits. I'd occasionally get the opportunity to collect/deliver packages from other areas such as Perth, Dundee or Scottish Borders. I'd agreed to help the Projects team with installing printers for Glasgow Life and this became my full time role when the Driver/Storeman contract was ended in Dec 2019 for cost cutting reasons. Since then I've continued to work on Glasgow Life machines and deployed printers for GCC's education services but this role was brought to and end on 31/03/20, citing the covid 19 outbreak as being the main factor.
Pros
Mon-Fri, 4pm finish, lots of downtime
Cons
Lack of stucture, organisation, communication

Call Centre Agent (Former Employee) - Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow - 18 November 2019
was advertised correctly and was a great place to work, was a temporary position but definitely hard but fair work. doing time-sheets or forgetting to do them was put onto the employee.

It was completely different to previous jobs that I had done and increased my knowledge in relation to government bonds. It also helped develop my skill for attention to detail.

No job security
Office Assistant (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 24 February 2019
I was an agency worker with Adecco on a zero hour contract. They don't offer job security or career advancement as they were constantly hiring and firing people where I worked. Some older staffe had worked there for years as agency workers, but were never offered a full time contract. They also force agency workers to break strikes and work when other staff on contracts are striking.

Administrator (Temp)
Administrator (Former Employee) - Glasgow - 15 August 2018
I was grateful for the work, but I had not life, as the job was too far away from my home and I had to get up at 0400 hrs to get buses to Glasgow.
I did a good job for them, but they haven't offered any other work since.
Pros
I was getting paid.
Cons
I had no life and was sooo tired, I was glad when this temp job finished.

Always Been Treated Well By Them
Remote Network Analyst and Customer care (Former Employee) - Glasgow - 8 November 2016
I haven't really got a bad word to say about Adecco. They've always been professional and efficient and placed me in some good positions.
The staff treat you with respect and if there's a problem or you have a question they have always got back to me.

Always Provided daily challenges
New Products Mgr and Customer Fullfillment Rep (Former Employee) - Greenock and Glasgow - 29 August 2016
Work involved daily Updating the status of Customer Orders and providing the Customers and Sales Teams this information to allow them to track the progress of their orders
I learned about all the different teams and business partner processes required to get an order from it's initial request through to the delivery at the customers address wherever in the world that was
My coworkers ranged from people in the same building as me through manufacturing in China, and Logistics in Bratislava with Distribution centres in Rotterdam and sales teams/Customers in Central and South Africa .
I worked with a small team of colleagues onsite and a more extended team across several continents to identify problems and correct them as early as possible. I provided solutions to any customer enquiries for any aspect of their order.
The hardest part of the job was managing material shortages which delayed orders
The most satisfying part of the job was getting the thanks of the customer after helping them with their quetsions/problems.
Pros
Great office environment and the people
Cons
Very small teams to cover large geographies impacted by holidays and absences

Review
Customer Service Representative NS&I (Current Employee) - Glasgow - 8 June 2015
A typical day at work would begin by checking emails and compliance notices to ensure I was up to date with any changes for my previous shift. Depending on which work stream I was appointed to I would then answer inbound calls from NS&I customers wishing to buy products, arrange repayments, change their details or any other general enquiries. Using multiple systems to support these calls, and all of my training on DPA and MLA to ensure customers were properly authenticated and all calls were dealt with in a fully complaint and helpful manner.
Quality is a key part of the service and therefore I would use the quality management tool, to gather real time feedback on my calls from customers. I would also spent time with my Team Leader to review the feedback and discuss my performance.
The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to help customers complete their transactions quickly and efficiently.

Clerical Assistant/Data Entry (Former Employee) - Glasgow, SCT - 12 May 2015
I found in all my years working with Adecco a very pleasant experience as it gave me a taste of work .... During my stint with Adecco I learned several skills such as Data Entry, General Admin work, Filing, Dealing with customers ..... Sometimes you would have to deal with things such as answering phones even though it wasn't in my job description......

Professional company
agency worker (Former Employee) - Glasgow, SCT - 2 March 2015
I only worked for adecco for a year as a temporary stop gap when I had left a previous employer I found them to be professional but as they are a recruitment agency I did not many interactions with them. The lady who was in charge of the site for adecco was very polite and helpful. The downside to this work would be that the employer I worked for was not taking on staff on permanent contracts although this was made clear to me prior to taking the post
