Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNot the worst job I've ever had, but definitely wares you down and makes you question why you would put yourself through something like it, but some people enjoy it. I was not one of them.

Great workplace with lovely people lots of support provided by the managers. It can be difficult working with high case loads but the team environment is very supportive

Soul destroying and degrading
This was the worst job I have ever had and have worked in the sales sector for longer than 8 years. You are targeted on every aspect of your job from sales to compliance to how long you are off the phone. Everything is tracked. The commission is the worst I have ever experienced and for the level of work you have to put in, it is completely inadequate. The ops team are a joke and do not care about their staff, all they care about is making themselves look good. The script is changed every month aswell as the process, yet you are penalised for the slightest mistake. Even if you are setting up policies worth thousands of pounds they still take it out of your commission if you get a red call. Getting a red call could be as simple as missing one word off the script. Work life balance is atrocious. With all that said, this is not a real sales job. The money is poor and you aren't even allowed to objection handle to sell, yet you are still targeted on selling. They say you get company sick pay but if you are ever off and need sick pay they don't pay it. Don't bother.
Pros
Some weekends off
Cons
Long Hours, poor pay, condescending management, over the top compliance

Not the best
Customer Care Specialist (Former Employee) - Cardiff, Cardiff - 12 June 2023
High pressure and they constantly tell you how lucky you are to work there by giving you free fruit and the odd hot chocolate or pizza delivery to make up for the ridiculous pay for the work and hours.
Cons
Long hours low pay every second accounted for

Stressful, management are awful, no care for their staff
Travel Claims Handler (Former Employee) - Cardiff - 17 May 2023
Absolutely awful department to work for in travel claims, I’ve heard other departments are brilliant. The wrong people are dismissed without warning when the managers are to blame, but they pick on the people who rightfully stick up for themselves. Management make it clear who their favourites are. I was on leave when I found out one of the best, kindest, most helpful and welcoming member of staff was wrongfully dismissed. I decided then I didn’t want to be part of that awful, toxic, jealous environment again. Keep away from the travel department, especially travel claims

VENUE MANAGER (Former Employee) - England - 12 April 2023
It’s fine for a short period of time to build up your career opportunities for future but not for a long run for sure. Not suitable for everyone. Need to be confident with people.
Pros
Pay, hours
Cons

Sleezy sells and ignoring wrongdoings is the go to
CCR (Former Employee) - Wales - 28 March 2023
Worked for the company less than a year and that was still too long. Training process is fine, but made to feel that you'll fail if you don't understand some things. Pay isn't great. Promise of new starter bonuses along side other things, which give a fales sense of security. Essentially a minimum wage job for maximum effort. You won't be seen as worthy unless tou give all your free time to the company to make your manager look good. Managers play favorites and ignore any wrongdoings of staff, even though things being done need to be addressed. Think before you work here. If you want no work/life balance, get paid peanuts, get ignored by those there to help you and be made to feel like you mean nothing then this is the place for you!
Pros
Leaving there feels great.
Cons
Everything

Great place to work, not for me.
Insurance Consultant (Former Employee) - Swansea, Swansea - 16 January 2023
I worked here for 4.5 years, in my time I didn't progress, I was repeatedly told my performance wasn't enough despite being more trained than most managers. Being Multi-product trained meant it was harder to get support from team managers and were working with more products despite being paid the same as others. Progression can be tough unless you're a good performer, but moving up sometimes leads to losing out on monthly bonus. Sadly the culture had shifted during my tenure, and led to being non-stop phones all day every day. Plus side is that you do get a lot of holidays, especially with the extras they pass your way, and WFM permitting, half-days and spontaneous days off are readily accessible. Some managers are very worker friendly and will do everything they're able to make the job the best it can be for you. It was a bit much for me but co-workers, and friends who still work there have a lot of positives to say. :)
Pros
Great stability, alternating rota, standard benefits.
Cons
Long hours, limited progression

Don't even consider it
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - Cardiff - 26 December 2022
I thought joining admiral would be a great place to work since they've earned so many rewards but in actual fact the job is horrendous. You have to clock in on phones and if your a minute or 2 over they make you work it back. The trainers are just in competition with each other so instead of making sure everyone is comfortable in actually starting work they just chuck you in when your not ready. If you make a mistake on the phone (i.e forget a part of a script) they dock your wages! They arrange team days out and ply you with alcohol only to reprimand you on your behaviour the next day in work! (Which goes on your permanent file). Constantly looking over your shoulder because the people are so clicky and b!tchy.
Pros
Free coffee
Cons
Terrible working place, dock your wages

Soul sucking environment
Insurance Advisor (Former Employee) - Swansea, Swansea - 4 September 2022
Worst job is in the renewals department. Constant pressure and stress, always increasing the targets and changing scripts that you don't get enough time to learn, and they then discipline you when you get the scripts wrong on calls. Managers are constantly on your back even when you're off sick, some even try and shame members of their team by telling everyone else on the team in meetings how long members were in the toilet for, and accuse them of avoiding calls. All they care about its making money even if its at the detriment of their staff. Hands down the worst job ive ever had and the worst company I've ever worked for.
Pros
Free chocolate
Cons
No work/life balance.

Do not work here esp in south england
Customer Service Assistant (Former Employee) - Brighton - 28 June 2022
If you live in Brighton Crawley Croydon anywhere around do not work for this company you will lose your mind. Managers are so RUDE abandon your on shift and do not help. Area manger nit picks everything and doesn’t give any room to breathe. Brighton is so understaffed they ask you to cover multiple times a week. Ignore your requests , book you when you can’t work. Not allowed to sit down even if the shop is empty …. training is paid but essentially useless as you have to learn as you go- which you don’t because the managers don’t help. If you value your sanity go and work somewhere else. Shoutout to the staff at London road they’re actually nice but you won’t get hired there as it’s not understaffed.
Pros
None and they don’t pay you on break and they also cut it down if they want a ciggy
Cons
Too many to count

Awful. Draining. Soul destroying. Do not work here
Insurance Agent - New business (Former Employee) - Cardiff - 25 May 2022
Long shifts, awful pay, managers are very cliquey. Unfair promotions. Won’t progress unless your a managers favourite. Work life balance is absolutely none. Incentive pay lost over stupid things. Too much pressure. Processes change every month. Unable to be compliant at your job. Expect you to stay after your shift if your on a call, do not compensate you for your time. Or pay you for the extra hours.
Pros
Free cereal before payday

Fantastic Company to Work For
Renewals Consultant (Former Employee) - Cardiff, Cardiff - 25 July 2017
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Admiral, I made friends for life and all my colleagues were very supportive. The company itself has to be the best I have worked for but due to location purposes and having a young child I have to find a job closer to home.

Claims Handler
First Response Outbound Claims Handler (Former Employee) - Newport - 12 June 2017
Fast paced and exacting call centre role dealing with Motor claims. High volume and challenging queries from policy holders and third parties alike. A very young management team with high energy levels but lack of real life experience. There was an Admiral Way which was to push everyone at 100 mph. No time to stop and think when there was a continual pressure to take the next call. This led to mistakes.
Pros
Dynamic
Cons
Over worked
