Shop Manageress in Daventry, Northamptonshire

Loved my job and enjoyed every day
I had a great 6 years as shop manager for Age uk.Very good team sprite both internally and with external shop managers ...Senior management alowed managers to run thier own shops, although, there are various charity promotions and policies that all store have to adear to, on the whole if you do your job there is no micro managing from Senior Management...

Very disappointing experience
Complete lack of promised on site training. No appraisal or salary review in 10 years. Generous holiday allowance although impossible to use up.Regular changes to contract of employment to suit their needs. Unstructured and unpleasant experience. I stayed 10 years because it was a 5 minute walk to work .

Absolute awful olace to work management havent a clue what they are doing and most of the workforce horrible
The worst place to work in Cumbria. The CEO is very sputfull and most of the workforce are horrible individuals who are just interested in trying to impress the CEO.

Fun place to work
When I worked for Age UK, I loved it, It was fun and all clients were loveable. My fun there went down hill when I got accused of looking at personal information. A colleague left her private information in the staff for all to see, so I picked it up ( NEVER) looked at it and passed to someone from management. I told the colleague that she left her personal information on the table for everyone to see, i had mention that i gave to management, but never look but her husband complained about me to staff and accused me off looking. Management believed someone who had been there two weeks rather then me who had been there 3 months.. I lost my job

Fun & relaxed
Great place to work. The job is relaxed and fun as well as responsible and the people around me both staff and service users are a pleasure to work with.
