I loved it but it didn’t pay much and as a line worker out and about, you need to love your own company and the company of mainly elderly folk

Support Worker (Part-time) (Former Employee) - Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire - 23 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Working for Age UK was a pleasure from start to finish. The elderly clients were lovely and became like family. The management were amazing, best I've worked for. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? There was absolutely no stress attached to this job, it really was a great company to work for and I wish I had never left What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Great. I cannot find one negative thing to say about Age UK What is a typical day like for you at the company? Visiting the elderly in their homes was lovely. We would chat and have a cup of tea. The work wasn't to hard and as long as you did your job to a high standard you were left alone.

Great place but need more staff
Project Manager (Current Employee) - London - 22 July 2023
Ongoing capacity issues, executive staff dont seem to be aware of workloads. It’s a great place to grow and develop. But individual workloads need attention

great customer relations
Part Time Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Taunton - 21 July 2023
A really fun place to work, well its what you make it. The Managers and Area Manager weren't interested in my progress, encouraging me, or even if I could access my payslips online. At one point I asked if I could work some extra hours, but got no answer from either shops managers or area manager. I gave this as feedback to the Area Manager when he was surprised to receive my resignation, but even then he failed to acknowledge that no-one responded to my request, ironically-no empathy whatsoever !
Pros
casual culture
Cons
No communication between weekend staff and management

Low staff turnover and rewarding
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 11 July 2023
I enjoyed my time working for AGE UK Manchester as a care assistant, however I find their services to be quite run down and in need of decorating and new furniture adding for residents. The culture in the care home was welcoming and the staff all very supportive of one another.
