Office staff
I have worked for this company for 3 years and have seen so much positive changes In this time. This is quickly becoming a forward thinking business who values their employees ( they have implemented an employee forum and different shift patterns to suit more people and that’s just the start). The office staff and management are a hard working bunch , the job can be very challenging at times but we pull together as a team and it’s rewarding to be a part of it. I look forward to seeing more positive changes and seeing where my career will go.

Poor pay, long hours
Very poor wages, waiting around on trailers to be loaded, waiting rate is paid at £7.55 ph, was waiting a total of 29 hours recently; then expected to carry on with runs as planned when half the customers are closed, turning 1 days work into 2 days work diluting the pay rate even further. Expected to work 65+ hour weeks and on a Friday always pushing to work more hours/ Saturday mornings.

Busy, productive with good work colleagues
I don't normally leave reviews but tend to read them, seeing the negative reviews nearly put me off but I took a chance and happy I did.I started with the Agro Merchants with little experience, I was made to feel welcome and was teamed up for training throughout the warehouse across multiple areas, this is a big site and rather daunting but my confidence grew along with my training. I soon felt part of the team and I enjoy my role within Agro. Each shift is different and it's a busy environment which makes the time go quick. Not everyone is happy within their job as with all places you have those that rather be negative, moan and try to bring you down but from what I've noticed it's a very small minority and it's those that have been there a while and don't appreciate a good place to work. Management are fair, approachable with an open door well from my experience there. Most enjoyable part of the job is working as part of a team to complete the loading.I've learned lot's of thing's, how to operate a pallet truck, trained on a fork truck and how to use a scanner. Oh and which people's opinion to not buy into.

Awful place!
Do what you can to avoid this place! The management is near to none, your constantly under pressure and when you start there you are thrown in the deep end with no training! The warehouse lads do all they can and get no thanks or any sign of appreciation. Employee appreciation day was not long ago and all the employees got was a £5 voucher for Starbucks (enough for one coffee) some sort of appreciation that is! The place is a shambles and no one is happy there!

Fast paced, great people
Enjoyed my time at AGRO Merchants. The people were great and there was a good work atmosphere. Workload was high and fast paced but management were supportive.
