Air Products is committed to protecting people and the environment while providing the products needed for healthy and fulfilling lives. In this Sustainability Report, we share with you the actions we are taking to fulfill the world’s need for clean, sustainable energy, along with our higher purpose to improve sustainability in our businesses, with our customers, and for our employees, communities and the world.

Individually Strong, Collectively Powerful

Our past and future success rely on promoting collaboration among people of different cultures and backgrounds. We are expanding the Air Products family globally by growing in new geographies. As we grow in new regions of the world, we bring with us our diversity and inclusion values to some areas where the societal roles of minorities and women are still evolving. Air Products has set a goal to achieve at least 28% female representation in professional and managerial roles globally and at least 20% minority representation in that same population in the United States by fiscal 2025. These goals represent increases from 25% and 17% representation (2020 baseline), respectively. We plan to meet these goals through a series of actions and programs such as executing leadership-driven diversity action plans, enhancing policies to support diversity in our workforce, and training and expanding our Employee Resource Groups and Inclusion Network focused on diversity, inclusion and belonging.

We Stand Together

Message from CEO, Seifi Ghasemi: We stand together against the disease of racism. We stand together against the malady of hate. We stand together in our shared humanity and equality. We stand together on the fundamental right of every person to be treated with dignity and respect. We stand together.

Day of Understanding

Air Products is one of more than 2,000 organizations that have pledged to cultivate workplaces that support open dialogue on complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about diversity, inclusion and belonging (DIB) in an effort to move the needle toward a more just and equitable world. We recently joined organizations around the world in a Day of Understanding, followed by a Week of Inclusion, where Air Products employees across the company participated in courageous conversations about DIB. This Day of Understanding, Week of Inclusion is just one of the ways Air Products brings to life its commitment to CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ and supports the company's goal of being the most diverse industrial gas company in the world.

Danielle Martin, Site Manager

"Fostering growth and development of its employees, regardless of experience level, is a characteristic of Air Products." Over three years, I gained work experience in various functional roles and process technologies while developing professional skills and fulfilling early career objectives. During one of my first assignments, I was given the opportunity to manage a project to reduce argon losses at one of our air separation plants. It seemed like a major responsibility, but fostering growth and development of its employees regardless of experience level is a characteristic of Air Products. The project resulted in significant financial savings for the plant. I developed essential skills, and the company benefited from decreased losses."

Chia-Hang, IT Advanced Analytics

"As an international worker in the United States, it is challenging to work and live in a fully different culture and environment. I was happy to join a company where people respect and care about each other. My colleagues are my mentors who help me with the work and guide me through the culture shock. I like that I work for a company that not only targets the profitability but also values diversity and safety as the core of the company’s culture. It was important to me to feel like I was not a foreigner when I walked into the doors on my first day at the company."
