Decent Job with some great work mates

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
We did a great job producing wings at a steadily increasing rate despite the management trying their best to trip us up, mostly a good job occasionally spoilt but we tried not to let that get us down.

Pros

Work hours, overtime, great lads

Cons

Over Officious management

Toxic environment

Please avoid apprenticeship scheme if you value your mental health and value your worth.Your voice will not be heard, and when asking for help you will be made to feel small and worthless and will not receive adequate support during the scheme.

Brow beaten, rule with an iron fist.

They're supposed to conform to caa standards. They don't care. I'd love to walk around Broughton and bring it down on there heads. Money talks. The amount of non conformance rules I used to witness every shift was a joke. I was left to run a team of lads, who through no fault of their own (agency workers) had no training but were put on the job and the likes of me was expected to still complete an Airbus work package and train the lads. It was a disgrace, and to be fair a highly stressful environment. The only time I enjoyed at Airbus in fifteen years was when I wasn't in Broughton. At the detriment to my relationship with my partner and daughter I couldn't wait to go on working parties.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Brow beaten for the sake of production figures

Can't believe they put these aircrafts in the sky. Ridiculous, shocking management, no respect for tooling or equipment. It's absolutely scandalous what they do inside the place

Pros

Good company

Very good company, nothing they can do but to make people redundant with the on going coronavirus issues, really loved working at airbus and worked there for nearly 9 years

Pros

Good job

Overall good place to work

Would encourage most people to work there, fast paced industry which constantly changes to better develop the aircraft industry throughout the many different systems.

Pros

Good job, good salary

Cons

Industry can be up and down

Good pay, stressful environment

The pay was good and the shifts were good for a work life balance but the pressure put on staff was not nice and sometimes felt a bit too much. Management was very forceful.

Good

Ok place to work and supportive with career progression. Secure work and felt valued as an employee. Work life balance good and bonus every year is a great incentive

You are a personless number.

A truly terrible place to work. Money ok but unless you want to be treated like a robot, lied to, used and not appreciated and treated as something to be thrown away don't do it. I will never recommend this place to anybody unless I hate the person. You will not find anybody on the shop floor who will recommend this place. The moral is always low. Far different from the face they like to portray

Fantastic opportunities, pay & job security

Airbus is a fantastic place to work. Thoroughly enjoyable and stimulating, there's always opportunities to progress and move upwards if you're driven enough. It's constantly modernising and improving - though this can sometimes be frustrating (too much change) and some areas (single aisle) are slower to adapt. Job security is superb and the pay is way above average especially considering the mostly stress-free work and 35 hour working week.

Good company to work for

Good company to work for, great apprenticeship scheme. Chance of progression. Since changed to GKN Aerospace & management team has a lot to be desired compared to airbus.

Secure job.

Order back log of around 5 years work, over time if needed. Required tools are hard to come by which is astonishing for a company of this size. Good location

enjoyable place to work

Involved in working as a team in a fast moving production line in the manufacture of aircraft wing assemblies learnt a lot of engineering manufacture skills and attended many courses and received certificates and credit for this. a good enviroment to work in and good benifits schemes for employees.

Pros

big company so good benefit schemes and pay

Cons

hard to climb up ladder as so many employees

Fast paced manufacturing enviroment

High paced environment where teamwork and strong communication skills are essential. Work in teams of approximately 20 people. The nature of the high paced environment means that following manufacturing standards is essential as deadlines have to be met due to a high customer demand. High focus on Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Good place to work

7 hour shifts are quick, however unsociable hours forced. Learnt how to become efficient Management are satisfactory in few areas Culture is good Packages The teams

Pros

good bonus each year, invest into shares, good salary, good co-workers

Cons

management, unsociable hours, using your holiday entitlement

good salary poor management

the salary is great, but the company in the United Kingdom lacks management with common sense. They need to listen to the people on the shop floor instead of acquiring answers from irrelevant people.
