The usual middle management situation

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Whilst it's a professional environment, you will find the usual gripes of most multinational companies. The name of the company attracts you not the salary! In most similar roles at medium sized companies you will earn around 10% more

Great place to work

Great support as a graduate with good career opportunities. High expectations in a corporate environment but you are given training and support. Wage not on par with other Insurer's in the area but benefits like pensions are better.

Good place to work

Good place to work. Manager is nice, team are all lovely people. Not the most motivating place to work. Technology is behind the level that it should be, but that is the same for all large insurers.

All talk, no action

Didn’t spend too long here but didn’t need to.They do a lot of talking but no action. Somehow they’ve convinced their staff to thinking it’s a good job. Very depressing environment, I couldn’t leave quick enough. They’ll drain everything they can out of you and only give you a 30 min break. No different to working in a less reputable/smaller insurance company, they’re just as bad (job/job role wise). They already preach how great the salary is but it’s not that great, again all talk. Preach about the ‘benefits’ as well but it’s pretty standard stuff. If you want a sick day you have to call your manger, not text, call. Then call again at lunch to ‘provide an update.’ Like you’ll be magically cured in 3 hours. Who wants to hear a managers voice when you’re ill? Not a needed policy, odd choice.Convinced the staff they’re at a special place but they’re really not. Even got staff calling customers ‘clients’ to make them feel more special, comedic.

Pros

There was a tea/coffee machine

Cons

Milk the staff, think a lot of themselves Day will drag like never before Just don’t work there

Exploitative

This employer pays waaaay below the market rate.As if that wasn't insulting enough, they had the gall to call the 3% 2022 pay rise "generous". Avoid at all costs

Pros

Remote working - that's it

Cons

Extremely poor management, lack of appreciation, miserly pay, no opportunities to develop

Think twice

Not well organised company, interviewer was 15 minutes late, she forgot she had interviews that day… training is lacking, communication across departments is shocking and environment is nepotistic. Pay and benefits are laughable.

Pros

City centre, you can gossip a lot

Cons

Office is old and outdated, atmosphere, pay, people

Fun, relaxed and teamwork environment

Great place to work with great colleagues, great training and great equipment and facilities. Manager support you and colleagues are always there to look out for you. Would thoroughly recommend.

Pros

Great colleagues, Great Training.

Cons

None

Very rewarding, and a very professional environment for development.

This company is probably one of the best when it comes to employee welfare and development. They really care about the skills, experience and capability of their employees and will endeavour to do anything that enhances these.

Pros

Brilliant support, plenty of chances to develop, good pay, professional environment.

Cons

Complex cases, sometimes tricky work life balance.

Was a great place to work , however it has gone downhill

I have worked here for a number of years , when I first joined the company it was amazing . There was opportunities to develop and the atmosphere of the office was a friendly and helpful place to work. However the past two years this has all changed, Allianz now only sees you as a percentage and all they care about is the figures. This clearly shows with the amount of staff who have been with this company for years that have left.It is a real shame to see such a good work environment and company sink so fast when it comes to employees wellbeing. You know it’s not a great place to work when the weekly email has a leavers section due to the amount of staff handing their notice in. Years ago I was proud to work for this company , now I don’t have a good word to say about it.

Cons

Work life balance Workload due to not having enough staff

Relaxed atmosphere but poor management and very poor collaboration between teams

Relaxed environment and colleagues are friendly and helpful but you will only be promoted if your face fits and you aren’t seen as a trouble maker which is basically when you point out the errors in managements plans.

Pros

Helpful colleauges

Cons

Poor Managers

Enjoyable but stressful

Good place to work but they do not advertise the role as more of a call centre which it is. A lot of calls have to be taken per day even if you have IT issues etc. Company do really care about your wellbeing.

Good chance of Progressio

Managment/Colleagues are helpful, nice work culture as well. Lots of chances of progression within the team. Shift patterns can be challenging for some, but you have a fair amount of days off.

Pros

Managment Chance of progression Good overtime pay

Cons

Shift patterns

Was a really valuable experience for my career start

Development-oriented environment with lots of growth opportunities. Interesting tasks, supportive colleagues. I was a bit underpaid, which was a common practice for positions like mine back then.

Not a great place to work

Career progression is ‘sold’ to you at interview stage but it’s not offered to the majority. Calls take priority over everything, and there is so much micromanagement that even toilet breaks had to be scheduled.Wouldn’t recommend working here

Pros

Only 9-5 mon-fri

Cons

Micromanaged, little progression

Diversity supportive, Productive, Firm but Fair Management

I loved working here. The Team Leader role has evolved from being a "Leader" of teams to becoming more technically aware and able to coach accordingly.

Pros

Close to train station. No fluff ....what you see is what you get

Cons

Redundancy, but even then I was treated well

Great place to work

I worked at Premierline (Allianz Business Services) for nearly three years before moving to the other side of the country.Working in sales with targets can be stressful of course however I have found managers to be understanding and supportive. They try to build you up and help you reach sales targets. I also found that your overall work load is taken into account, if you are asked to work in other areas, any targets you were set are reviewed accordingly. The company will support you though your insurance professional qualifications and the support and training are excellent.Progression can be difficult, it's not a huge company (Premierline that Is) and the turnover for many of the positions you would aspire to is low. But there are many opportunities available to you in the wider Allianz group and it's not taboo to talk about it.If a call comes through right before the end of the day you are expected to pick it up. But if a client requires time to be dealt with, managers will allow you to claim this time back. When covid hit in 2020 the company responded quickly and allowed the staff to work from home. There were some teething problems with IT as you can expect. Call center jobs don't translate well to home working and many of the staff didn't enjoy working from home. The company did offer support to staff and tried to keep everyone in touch, but it was a difficult period.Overall I had a very positive experience of working at Premierline. I would recommend it to others, especially if you don't currently work in the insurance industry and would like to.

Pros

Staff, training, development

Avoid Lancaster!!!

I have just recently left here (ABSL/Premierline) after a several years and have now moved across to my new role. I had worked across two different departments, most recently working on the New Business Team - generating income and getting businesses on cover with us. Since the Covid Pandemic began, the business has treated its staff unfairly. Redundancies left right and centre, many people now leaving off their own back. Benefits at the company were good but I would not recommend working at such a shambles of a place.

Pros

Salary, benefits

Cons

Stressful, targets, job isn’t secure
