Ups and Downs
Claim Handler (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 13 November 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedSome great people work there and the benefits are really good however the claim handling centre has historically been treated like a call centre leading to an emphasis on quantity over quality which results in more work. Redundancies seem to happen on a yearly basis and set all goals, workloads and morale back substantially each time. Seems to be heading in the right direction at the moment (albeit painfully slowly) and wish all the best to the handlers still working there. They deserve more time and patience to do their job properly and a decent pay rise across the board too for the level of responsibility they have.

Friendly work environment
Accounts Assistant Placement (Former Employee) - Guilford, Surrey - 3 November 2023
I did a placement year in financial reporting at Allianz, the experience was good, a friendly and supportive environment, lots of graduates and was handed some responsibility. Although as a placement student (not a grad) my team was all older and work was a little dull at times. Hybrid working made it more bearable.

Jobs at Allianz
Things have changed for the better over the last year
Claims Handler (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 30 October 2023
Claims are handled better and you are given more time allowed to correctly deal with them rather than rushing and getting nowhere. They are thinking about how to improve

Great working place
Senior Project Officier (Current Employee) - Chingford, Greater London - 8 August 2023
WFH is the best part, colleagues are great as well. However, the IT department is not so nice to deal with, and there are a lot of unnecessary precedures.

Good culture but slow to progress
Actuarial Analyst (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 5 August 2023
Good and laid back culture. Pay in line with market. Slow to make decisions and not always the right ones. Work life balance is variable but generally good.

Insights into Allianz
What people like

- Supportive environment
- Time and location flexibility
Fraud Claims Handler, underpaid
Claims Handler (Former Employee) - Milton Keynes - 31 July 2023
I was managing claim portfolio of 100 motor claims that required validation due to fraud concerns. The training is world class and most of the managers are very supportive, especially the technical leaders. There was a lot of salary disproportion across the team whilst doing the same work. Very underpaid for the nature of the job, including working on 50k+ claims.
Pros
Training, Management, Culture
Cons
Salary, Progress opportunities

Many young and untrained people struggling to do work. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Supportive, great culture of inclusion What is a typical day like for you at the company? A lot of admin work and answering emails. Chasing people due to high workloads.

Friendly and adaptive place to work
Team Leader (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 6 June 2023
Department going through a period of change which is much more customer focused. It will take time but moving in the right direction. Hybrid working supports work/life balance

Okay - if your face fits
Claims Handler (Former Employee) - Solihull, West Midlands - 12 May 2023
I was there for over three years and stayed because colleagues were so lovely. Management are clueless and vindictive- I have watched them tear people down for no other reason than that you have dared to speak. Promised that with hard work promotion would come - unfortunately this was not the case, simply I was to do the senior job without the title or the salary to reflect this. The workload is laughable and unmanageable and certain Team leaders who tell their operations manager what she wants to hear are then given continuous opportunity and seemingly allowed to behave how they wish with no consequence and push staff to the brink with no regard to the implications their behaviour has caused. The fact that company corporate sponsor is MIND and yet this environment exists is diabolical. If ever you are approached I would run the other way.

Great place to work
HR Advisor (Former Employee) - United Kingdom - 4 April 2023
Always supported, lots of progression opportunities. Feel valued always! Fair salary and bonus structure and great benefits. Senior managers are approachable which makes you feel comfortable in your role.

Bureaucratic and slow
Underwriting Manager (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 14 March 2023
Little understanding of problems employees face at the coal face from management. Constantly piling up more processes to fix underlying broken systems

Good, until
Team Leader (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 13 March 2023
Worked here longer than I'd worked anywhere else. Always recommended it as a place to work, whilst holding interviews etc. Management can be a click, promotions tend to be people who will comply and do what they are told. Good benefits, shares, pension, good holiday allowance. Re sickness, depending on who you are, depends how you are treated. I know people that have been given considerable amount of time off for either themselves or family, with no sickness noted. Other people no assistance at all or sympathy. Promote an inclusive environment, again this depends what category you fall in to. If you will promote the brand and get good publicity they will assist. If it doesn’t get them anything, they won't help you. Good, work life balance, hybrid working. Handlers are nice people. Benefits. Pros, management clicks, unfair treatment

Great culture, not so great pay
Agency Manager (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 8 February 2023
Pay can be a bit on the lesser side compared to others in the industry. The culture allows you to thrive though because it's very encouraging and there isn't much micromanagement.

Not what is seems
Mailroom Assistant (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 26 January 2023
The role was mailroom assistant but in reality, it was room set-ups, IT checks floor walks loading bay deliveries, and extra work for no extra pay. SPS who supply temp staff have a set fee for mailroom staff regardless of other duties involved.
Pros
None
Cons
Extra work without the extra pay

Big name poor environment
Underwriter (Former Employee) - Guildford, Surrey - 9 December 2022
Joined with poor training and lack of development. Stressful environment and remote working made an empty office with no culture. Big name company but do think again the pay is lower than standard
Pros
Start early finish early
Cons
Poor culture

The usual middle management situation
Contact Centre Advisor (Current Employee) - Brentford - 20 September 2022
Whilst it's a professional environment, you will find the usual gripes of most multinational companies. The name of the company attracts you not the salary! In most similar roles at medium sized companies you will earn around 10% more

Great place
Administrator (Current Employee) - Brentford, Greater London - 3 August 2022
Very happy working here, nearly at 10 years and have always said I would recommend the company to others, great advancement and professional qualifications

Great place to work
Graduate (Former Employee) - Guildford, Surrey - 26 July 2022
Great support as a graduate with good career opportunities. High expectations in a corporate environment but you are given training and support. Wage not on par with other Insurer's in the area but benefits like pensions are better.
