It wasn't that bad.

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I met some good people here and the pay was good for night shift but required too much. Having to work 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday and bank holiday for the same pay wasn't good. The woman who became in charge at the bun plant wasn't nice and she's the main reason why I didn't bother to show up to the interview for a contract.

Personally I do not like the environment/ kinds of people around me and not allowed to use the bathroom whenever nature calls and very disrespectful

Rubbish with the kinds of people around you and have no right to use the bathroom when nature calls both in the wash / hygiene departments( they are all like robots and insultive

Pros

Unhappy environment and in the wrong job

Cons

Long hours

ok..pays the bills…

not the greatest job. pays the bills. wage seems good until you realise what you do for it (type of work, nights, weekends, BH) jobs in the area offer similar rates of pay for less work.. machinery is all broke, roof leaks etc

Pros

none

Cons

long hours

Induction and communication

Went for an induction and was shown safety videos and shown round premises. Told to come back and start the training, went next day to be told that they could only train one to one, still to this day I haven't heard anything back from the management team. Having done the job for over twenty years for a rival company you would have thought that I would have been a great asset to the company.

Fair

Daily workload is reasonable for most routes. Being stuck with a bad route can mean working an extra 5 hours per week for the same pay but should be less than 50 hours per week either way. Trucks are in dire need of replacement and are not cared for past legalities.Pay is 'good' however considering unsociable hours and weekends worked you might not agree.Transport management/supervisors are helpful and personable while making the best of the situation put in place by higher management. Drivers are dictated to regarding how to complete daily routes but in the real world with multi drop things can change from day to day.

Simple and not backbreaking work

Easy enough job, light loads so not breaking your back at every drop. The majority of the time delivering to big supermarkets so easy parking, mapped out routes, learn them first.

Attention Don't waste your time with this Company.

Very Hard Work Lots of Hours Full Time. You work and you get nothing from this job you will not be promoted no pay raise for your work you keep doing the same overtime paid poorly, requirements of managers as if you were a robot. Very expensive canteen, always the same bread for employees for which you pay.

Worked their almost 8 years they turn a blind eye to health & safety to suit how much production they get out after leaving made excuses not to pay my final salary for shifts worked left my in a financial mess stressful environment and no support for problems like machines not working they won’t pay to fix any machines unless the wheels fall off

Pros

Pay and time off

Cons

Everything I said above

hgv class one bulk tanker driver

Well where do I start? What an awful company to work for as an HGV Driver! From fiddling your hours to keep your average down (I literally caught office staff putting in lower hours than I had worked) salary paid so it did not affect your pay. Salary was paid for an average 48 hour week, I averaged 55 hours a week and for the six months I was at Tilbury I had one short day to bring my hour average down and the short day was a nine hour day! Office staff telling you to take another load out even though you had done a ten hour plus day, office staff or transport desk telling petty tales to improve their own status etc. It really was a toxic atmosphere place to work!

Pros

None

Cons

Long Hours and not paid enough (salary)

Sometimes Very busy and Hectic

Carried out Daily Maintenance and Health checks on the Machinery involved in the process to produce Bread and buns etc, Also attended Breakdowns of Equipment , the emphasis was in Quick analysis and repair so to keep the process moving, a simple fault could result in Total loss of several hours worth of production , so speed was of the essence generally this was achieved however with some problems that occurred due to Electronic or Mechanical failure of equipment this would result in a major loss of product !!

Pros

Good working environment generally, good pension scheme and good renumeration

Cons

Sometimes quite stressful if a major breakdown occurred

The job is changing for the better

London depot Class 2 driver. It's changing, soon we deliver our bread on wheels like other bread companies. Our salary is reasonable nearly 37k. A 5 on 3 off work pattern is being introduced. Delivery trucks are not that old. Plenty of company benefits and you can buy bread for 40p. Early starts with job and finish. Overtime available. Approachable management. Truck sat nav to get you to your delivery points.

Not what was sold to me

Unfortunately not as interviewed for, the job was all about getting it finished, all my training was not used as the job wouldn’t be finished in time , just cut corners to get job done, being challenged on 1st day on my own very poor support , equipment faulty and vehicles poorly kept

Pros

Cheep bread

Cons

The job

Used to be decent, but not anymore.

There was a time where it was a decent place to work, Not anymore. How they have allowed it to get so bad is a mystery. The constant changing of management, from senior level down to front line, is what turned this place in to a nightmare. Each time the Management just got worse and worse. I worked here for a good number of years, but it just got to the point where I couldn't stand it any longer, and had to leave.I wouldn't recommend working here unless you are desperate for work, if you have other options take them, dont put yourself through the pain and misery of working for these clowns.

Pros

Nothing really

Cons

Too many to list
