Wouldn't recommend workin for this rubbish of a place

I would stay away from here, Pay is shocking, they offer u bonuses but never pay u the bonus, the new management speaks to u like rubbish, they don't have the time of day for u, ur forced/guilt tripped into picking up extra work when ur run off ur feet, as many Clints would say its not the fault of the carers themselves it's the office staff, they give away ur shifts and give it to agency staff, also staff are run off their feet so not always have time to have a break to eat or get a drink especially on hot weather really WOULD NOT recommend workin for this place stay away

Pros

Cons

Long hours, rubbish pay, no time for breaks

Terrible place to work

I have worked for allied for 13 years and have just handed my notice in as feel as if the management skills are terrible, place has gone downhill big time, no travelling time, big gaps between calls at times, rotas for customers never on time, Mar charts never available anymore, double up calls without a second carer available, poorly run, poor management, no appreciation shown ever and management know absolutely nothing about any of the clients never visiting them very poor and thats just the tip of the iceberg.

Pros

Absolutely none

Cons

Leaving

More concerned about money than the staff or residents

Have found the lack of training and unwillingness to listen to staff concerns very unsatisfactory Glad I got out of working for the company as they are more concerned about money than staffing or the moral of the staff

Pros

The people you look after

Cons

Pay, no home or work balance, lack of training

Really love working with this company.

Since I have been working here I become more confident with working with people, I love looking after my clients plus it a good job as I work on my own in the clients own home,

Pros

Being able to look after my clients.

Cons

The only think what is the hardest is hanging around in the rain between clients.

No support for employees

When I needed support no support was offered .Walking between clients, when at clients homes providing personal care etc Some clients wanted you to leave early. Company not very supportive and employees needs not met. If you didn't do the full time with clients either though the client asked you to leave. Sometimes you didn't get paid for that clients care

Pros

None

Cons

Short walking times between clients

Lovely caring people work here

While working the 5pm to 11pm shift weekend inbound call handler position it was difficult to get time off as the company needed reliable cover every weekend. Inbound calls could be anything from carers checking their rota or for directions to a new client etc to clients' family members asking where the carer was as past the time agreed, to social worker intervention and even police and hospital liaison staff.Very varied and interesting role, but not for the faint-hearted!

Pros

Can fit round family commitments

Cons

Can be stressful

Extremely under appreciated and under paid

Lack of staff due to poor pay & under appreciated. Constantly being harassed to cover shifts 24/7. Clients are mostly genuinely lovely. Minimum milage pay. No travel time pay due to 65p pay rise. Non drivers expected to walk long distances. A lot is expected outside of the job role responsibilities. Lack of branch staff means poor communication between carers and seniors. Branch staff refuse to help out in the field when desperate. Regardless of this I'm still working for them as my bank account requires feeding. Come join us at allied healthcare đź‘Ť

Pros

Can have a laugh with staff

Cons

Allied Helpcare

It was over 20 years ago I worked for Allied, they were quite supportive and understanding. There were jobs out of area and as I wasn't a driver I would be offered a lift...

Cons

Often sent out of area

It’s an ok place

Allied health care is a good place to work ,they have experience nurse that you will work along with and they will show you how to do things right, another advantage is of carrier progression for the NVQ and circle scheme to work and reference payment on introducing another person to work with them.

Pros

Free tea and coffee

Cons

Long hours

Very busy and interesting job role, every day is different meeting lots of friendly people and carers. Walking or own transport allowed, to visit the clients with uniform supplied. Great opportunities to progress within the company.

Stay away

When the CEO does not care it's no wonder the whole company is disjointed. They only care about money coming in and no care is given to the carers and the clients

A typical week at Allied

Overworked, under appreciated, higher management a complete waste of time and energy and doesn’t have a clue what they are talking about and has a complete lack of experience and knowledge. You work so hard to keep things going, you work all day then take your work home and work until late evening. Poor pay! They try telling you this is the average pay, but nope, it’s shocking! Honestly, look elsewhere before considering this company.

Pros

The care staff are great

Cons

Long hours, poor pay, poor higher management, carers don’t get any recognition and minimum wage for a large company, it’s all about them making profits

Shockingly unprofessional

I do not recommend working with this company.Office workers are unprofessional and disrespectful.Your time and effort will not be appreciated, if you ever have any problem you will be ignored. Staff turnover is very high, therefore nobody seems to care or have good work ethic. Do yourself a favor and don't bother with them.

Pros

Non

Cons

Pay, company culture, lack of basic decency

Good co workers

Avoid Allied at all costs. There is very little managing going on in the office and a lot of back stabbing and you will be included in that too at some point. they don’t like when you question issues and are partial to telling fibs to get the run covered. Hours for full time are horrendous with no fuel or sick pay. Office staff including manager do not listen to the needs of the staff or more importantly the customers regardless of what the issue is. Often customers left off then run and asked last minute to squeeze them in, Hands on it’s a great rewarding job but the office are impossible, too stressful for the amount of pay, Avoid!

Pros

Great customers and co workers

Cons

Long hours, terrible pay, bad management

Terrible dont go there

Care management does not understand the term care. Get rid of management as carers could run it far better. Management just sit on their backsides in the office thinking they are above everyone else. God help them if they had to work

Cons

All of it

Stressful, no breaks although you was entitled to them, but them so called breaks is spent with services users. always on the go

typical day at work, very stressful, lots of noise, management are two faced, new deputy manager, false, always grumpy with attitude, and believes she is better than anyone whom has and is working there, one rule for staff she doesn't like and another rule for staff she does like. work place culture extreme, what you learn is your need the patients off a Saint, hardest part off the job, service users screaming all day, enjoyable part was having certain shifts with great friends you have made, you work as a good team, other shifts there was no team work

Pros

Friends you make

Cons

two faced management
