It was ok

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I mean I worked for a third party who were a joke however the Amazon part was ok I mean if they wanted rid of you they would the better part is if they could allow you to take the photos of where you put the parcel like dpd, easy for someone to say you don’t have the parcel and you will get blamed and possibly pay for the parcel and get sacked. Pressure.

Pros

Easy in and out

Cons

Long hours

Great part time income

By far the best gig economy work couldn’t recommend enough. Some routes are good some are bad but when you average everything out it’s decent part time income

Not a good choice being an Amazon Flex Driver

App has many bugs, good time slot were always taken by bots, covering area is so wide you have to spend over an hour back home after completing the job

Hard work not enough paid

Very hard work long hours in street and stressful times and work , management really don't care about the drivers the only care about the parcels I have learnt how to use the Amazon systemAnd to be very fast working

Let’s see how it goes

It’s ok for now, the staff can be a bit rude. Expect you to pack the parcels quick. Start shouting. The app is not user friendly, it makes you back and forth for no reason, baring in mind Amazon is such a big company.

It's good extra income but...

The pay is about £17 an hour, which is really good. Often too, depending on your delivery route and the time of day, you can complete your shift quicker than expected but you will still get paid the same. You can also opt to pick up more parcels if you are finished within your delivery slot.Only issue is you can't see the delivery route you will do until you have already collected the parcels at the depot. I have picked up parcels in Manchester and had to drive to Huddersfield to deliver, this can be an issue during rush hour or if you didn't want to use up so much fuel/mileage.Also the fact they don't reimburse you for fuel is also a bit annoying.Bear in mind too, they ask you to upload proof of your 'Hire and Reward' car insurance certificate, so you have to spend money on this. They will delete your account if you don't upload within 1 month.

Pros

Pay

Cons

Fuel isn't reimbursed, can be sat in traffic, not always clear what to do at the depots (As they all work differently)

Alright

Pay is decent. Route numbers continuously increasing which make it less worth it, later start and finish times. Load vehicle yourself and manage time

worst secondary income

You will be sent anywhere from the nearest housing estate at the depot or 100 miles away.No fuel reimbursementNo sick payNo benefitsNo rewardsWear and tear on car due to crazy farm roadsMileage goes up on your car rapidlyBy the time you counter fuel, wear and tear, tax and ni deductions you will not profit even £10 per shift.

Pros

Drive when you wan

Cons

everything

Worse job I have ever had , no organisation, not enough training , unrealistic targets , no health and safety in this role whatsoever

Turn up at depot Wait around for an hour to start, so now your an hour behind schedule alreadyLoad your own van , sort out bags in right order which aren't always right from Amazon's end .Drive around like a lunatic , if you follow Amazon's rules and regulations you will take a week to do one day's worth of deliveries absolutely farceBecause you started late it's now dark and the job is near enough impossible, especially if you are in rural areas The company hate you having any undelivered items and the pressure to ensure this is unreasonableI would say the only enjoyable part is having no one telling you what to do while on shift , but you do get a fair few customers giving aggro over deliveries No place to go toilet , no real time for a break to eat or rest

Pros

Listen to music while driving

Cons

Long hours, unrealistic targets, hidden charges on wages which are a con

Good side job for extra income

Amazon flex is easy work, nice to have for extra work here and there. Never any issues with pay. More blocks would be a bonus! It’s all I’m the name, very flexible but not many blocks.

Fast paced, no break kinda place

Depending on your abilities, you can finish the work day within 6 to 7 hours and get pretty well paid for it. But Amazon started to systematically increase the workload to as high as 190 stops a day which is psychologically too much for some. And I am pretty sure they won't stop at that number because, in the corporational view, workers are numbers whereas clients are the gods. Your performance is not rewarded and you are put at the same table as the lowest performers. If you are too good, you get nothing, if you are too bad, you get scoldings. So if you are the type of human who thinks of himself as average or bellow average, that is the place to be. P.S: I am talking about self-employed people working through a DSP, I have no knowledge of how is the business going when you are full-time employed as a driver at them.

You work earn the advertised rate.

After car expenses and travel time there is no way you will want the advertised rate unless you live next to the pick location and deliver to that town.NOT WORTH IT

Pros

Self employed

Cons

Everything else

Easy going Easy work

A decent side-line job difficult to earn a full-time wage not enough hours available due to people snapping up blocks with bots.Wages are not great once you deduct petrol and ware and tear on your vehicle.

Disrespectful your job

You can drive 100 miles for £66. You will finish your 4 hours block in time, but need one hour to get back home. Average you will receive less than £10 per hour after fuel, taxes and you will destroy your car driving broken roads in county sides. Logistics very poor.

Pros

None

Cons

Bad payment, long hours

Don’t answer questions properly

No way you earn this kind of money. Pick up at your area, and send you over a hundred miles round trip, into another area. Not the area you applied for. I believe it’s the jobs they’re employed drivers would lose money on so flex drivers get the rubbish ones. End up with £4-5 an hour after expenses .

Pros

Non

Cons

Rip off

Easy and rewarding

Very good to have alongside a part/full time job, easy to make quick money for minimum time. Paid weekly which is very useful, perfect for days off to make a little extra money

Over worked

Amazon are just greedy they don’t care about you anything wrong with parcels it’s always the drivers fault we get our bonus taken from us for concessions even if it’s not our fault no holiday pay but the money is decent routes are 9 hour routes but they are planned with no breaks if you take 10 minutes you fall behind the grouped stops give you pretty much an extra hours work I had 190 stops on my last route with 38 multi stops and half of them were in different streets it’s a joke

Pros

All equipment provided with some DSP

Cons

Way overworked

Hit and Miss

Pay is falsley advertised. Claim 15 pound an hour but its far from the reality. 3 hours they pay 45 pound. Up to 3 pound goes on insurance. Fuel costs are looking at 8-10 pounds at times with a bare minimum of five pounds. If you consider this including travel to pick up location and back from the delivery area which is usually at busy traffic times and sometimes even in other cities it comes down to 8-10 per hour.
